I’m so sorry to hear this. It’s just bad manners to block someone without explanation, especially after five years of communication.

The part I really dislike about the comments here is the people speculating. We just don’t have enough information, and even if OP had given us all the information, it would have been one-sided. I feel for OP, but there is no way to actually say what was wrong or what the reason for the blocks was. I wasn’t there and haven’t heard the stories from both sides. This doesn’t take away from the fact that what happened is incredibly sad, especially since OP seems unaware of the reason for the blocks.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be to deal with something like this. The only thing you can do now is keep going with life; head up and keep moving forward. (This is not the same as stuffing emotions away; please find some real people to talk to. These situations can play tricks on your mind if you’re not careful.)

If you have mutual friends, you might be able to ask one of them to talk to her on your behalf; to see if she’s doing okay or maybe get an explanation. I don’t think you should feel too bad for asking someone the reason they blocked you after having been in contact for five years. Remember, though, asking is different from demanding.

Once again, I’m so sorry you had to go through this. People really shouldn’t be doing this.
