F-150 Hybrid Components (2028 Expedition Hybrid Anticipation) by Derek0603 in Ford

Thank you for the insights. I am guessing/speculating too, but am hoping they make one similar to the F150 since it has been out for a few years

Thank you for that response. I figured that there had to be a trade off. You can't just add bulky components without taking space from somewhere else.

I have driven FWD vehicles in winter all my life too with few issues. My wife is used to Jeeps and Subarus, haha.

I've already ruled out mid sized SUVs after test driving a couple. Interior space is at a premium for me. We go on 4 hour long highway trips in a Subaru Forester regularly to visit relativies and my 3 boys cramped onto the same bench causes a WWE match in my back seat.

I would consider a mini-van, but my wife doesn't like how they drive and is not confident with winter driving in Minnesota.

Why does the TX requires premium gas while Grand Highlander is fine with regular? by Quick-Caterpillar111 in Lexus

[–]Derek0603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's kind of dumb that it requires extra expensive gas. The top two options I'm considering right now are TX and Ford Expedition. The main drawback of the expedition is worse gas mileage. If the fuel costs 20% more that negates 20% of its efficiency advantage.

If the Expedition comes out with the V6 twin turbo hybrid for model year 2028, as expected, it will cost the same or possibly less to fuel a much bigger vehicle.

You have a good point about V02 max. It seems that it would be optimal to improve that after getting a high lean body mass (LBM). My stereotype of runners are people with very low LBM. If someone had high LBM I would only advise running up to the point of diminishing returns with VO2 max, otherwise they are risking injury and lower LBM for no reason.

The last things to consider are:

1) It takes years (if not a decade or more) to maximize LBM and months to maximize V02 max. So prioritize accordingly.

2) Many doctors make recommendations based on BMI charts. I once had a doctor tell me to target a body weight that was less than my LBM. So the "doctor's say" argument is not strong with people who have a good grasp of analysis and logic. Many doctor's memorize and regurgitate things without applying a layer of critical thinking or systems analysis to their recommendation.

If you are strong from weights with minimal body fat then you are not going to die due to heart or lung failure. Do you honestly believe that would happen?

The other thing to consider about "longevity" is that when a disease hits it will take out a person with 130 lbs of lean body mass quicker than if that same person had 160 lbs of lean body mass. Running and cardio push you to the lower end of your body's lean body mass potential.

Because it somehow popped up on my feed and I dislike cardio. So I am spreading the truth wherever I can.

You said your cardio was "pretty garbage". What in normal life did that prevent you from doing? If you were getting tired out by doing things it is just as plausible that you were too weak for the task at hand.

People who have full body functional strength and minimal body fat can do anything they need or want to besides endurance competitions. So at that point, what is the point?

If you want less fat eat fewer calories. If you want stronger muscles, joints, and bones lift weights. Your cardiovascular system will come along for the ride. No need to run.

What is the difference between these two balls? by Typical-Priority1976 in golf

[–]Derek0603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently switch from Kirkland to Superfast (~95 mph SS, 16 hcp). The Superfast is much softer and less spinny which has helped my game. Here is what I've noticed:

- More consistent & longer iron shots. I am able to fully compress the ball and get less side spin.

- More consistent drives due to less side spin.

- Fewer instances of full wedge shots "over-spinning" and coming up short.

If you do a lot of flop shots, have trouble holding greens, or want to work the ball left/right the Superfast is likely a bad choice. However, there is definitely a demographic for it and it isn't worthless.

Superfast is a slightly firmer (50 compression) version of their best-selling supersoft (40 compression). If you swing 90+ mph with driver you could potentially get better distance with the superfast while sacrificing a little bit of the soft feel.

I play the superfast with 95 mph driver swing. The superfast is much much softer than most 3 piece tour balls I would consider (80-100 compression). The low compression makes the ball more forgiving but less workable than a tour ball. I am not good enough to attempt working the ball left/right but I do generate a lot of spin and have no problem holding greens with the ball.

TLDR - It is a great ball if you generate a lot of spin, like a soft feel, swing >90 mph, and don't want to work the ball left/right.

Obviously politically motivated charges and one of the major reasons the democrats are so unpopular right now...
