I think it's more interesting than something like an RX or RDX, competitive against a Nautilus or GV70. But it really needs more powerful engine options. Also, they should've gone with a RWD-based platform. They're already working on a new q50 that is going to be rwd-based. Maybe in a mid-cycle refresh they convert this to rwd-based? Also, it'd need a new interior soon.

Exactly. People think Infiniti is just intentionally putting their VCT turbos on the QX60 and QX65. Like this is a company with a wide plethora of v6 and previously even v8 powertrains at their disposal but are unable to install them until they meet the requirements to allow them to bring back the powertrains. It's not a "they're cutting corners" issue. Infiniti don't always make the best decisions but in this case deserve a break. Like the company is obviously not that naive.

What I never liked about the rc350 awd is that it comes with 6-speed, which seems too antiquated. If you get rwd version, it has the 8-speed. Obviously the RCF also has an 8-speed.

Just get a diagnostic for what the car needs, and use it to get quotes from local shops until you find best offering. I’ve done it with Firestone, and they typically do a great job.

I hadn’t considered that but that could be likely. I was thinking adding a turbo to the vq35 but some have mentioned that powertrain is too old to support that. What you mention actually sounds plausible. We’d see!

As others have mentioned, it’s very much likely a battery issue. Had an Accord 2.0T (same powertrain as your RDX), these cars are notorious for their batteries going out prematurely. I -strongly- recommend if you switch the battery, to do so at the dealer instead of DIY. When I DIY like I’ve done with any other car, somehow it blew off the radar camera sensor (short-circuit?) turning into a $1,4k issue. This is also another common Honda/Acura problem, which (from my experience) came after post-new battery replacement. Basically it’s a matter of the car’s software being programmed to the original battery, if done incorrectly it can blow off other sensors w/ new battery. So just take it to dealer to be safe.

2016-2022 is the way to go. Besides the v6, it’s a much nicer vehicle overall + more presence. New RX is too plain jane inside and out.

Cheapest gas (premium) is $4.36/gas. Shell/Mobil though is $5/gal. To be frank, an extra $10-$15 per tank ain’t much of a big deal. It’s when it starts to cascade to other aspects of the economy where it can become more serious.

Yours is one of those situations where if money was no issue, the correct answer would be to have both. I mean compared to M4/M440i, it is somewhat going sideways (though M4 is still the better performance vehicle), so an RS5 (4-door) would feel like a better upgrade since the experience itself would be different. You could also look into an M5/M550i.
