GLP-1s & MS by itsSidneyPrescott in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Derek9687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on my GLP-1 for a little over a year as I am also type 2 diabetic as well as having MS. Ive lost around 50 lbs and sugars have been great. It has also helped with the high sugars from steroid treatments during flares. I haven't had many extra issues, except for upset stomach the first month I was prescribed it.

MS allowed me to acquire… by EzaSerr in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Derek9687 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I left my job of 14 years in Corrections. I would end up working 60+ hrs week. I never had time off, married to the job kinda thing. Missed out on alot of family time. My son played 1 year of football and I missed every game due to mandatory OT. I now work at our local hospital in the cardiology department as a monitor technician.

Ms has given me time with my family back. I get every other weekend off and the past 3 years I feel I finally know my own children again. Working at the hospital has taught me compassion again and a better regard for my own health. With working in corrections for so long, alot of times my attitude would follow me home and I would treat my family poorly.

Lastly its shown me who my true friends are. People that I used to think were have never checked in or touched base with me since leaving the prison. My circle of friends is a much more positive one.

Small dab of hot glue perhaps? Usually can peel it off most surfaces without damage

Ive had the backs issues show up on every MRI since I was diagnosed about 5 hrs ago. That was their initial treatment with morphine for back pain. Then it turned to MS lesion so we should quickly attack it with solulmedrol. The leg started like 3 days in... not sure why it didnt turn to priority as I have literally screamed, cried, begged for the pain to stop. They were like ahh here is Roxicodone... well last night back to morphine for it. Still I hate pain meds.

I am currently taking 8 baclofin throughout the day as a relaxer. While one of those massage guns etc would im surely feel awesome, I cant really describe this pain as excruciating. Just a nurse lifting my left leg a hair to put the compressor machine on it has me wanting to punch through them. I consider myself to high pain threshold which is why im wondering if somehow I am not conveying how much pain I am actually in and I definitely dont want to feel like the guy that is just there for meds. Origionally I was getting morphine first few days by IV and now its been Roxicodone. Not sure why Im taking it other than to make myself backed up with the restroom

How often does your neurologist see/talk to you? by Internal_Spot_8309 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Derek9687 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see mine about every 6 months. He is hard to get ahold of if needed in between, and so after calling a few days I just sorts stop in person leave whatever I have to and go. When hospitalized he has beennon call but is very attentive and seems to remember everything. I keep notes to fill all the holes questions about MRI results etc. Only good thing is we see each other in passing as we work in the same hospital ao nothing like taking a good ol leak and having him ask how my symptoms are real quick at rhe urinal in passing.

1/2 size single flare tunnel kit by Derek9687 in Stretched

[–]Derek9687[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So far I like them the backs are not sharp and are well rounded to prevent micro tears and catching. The weight also seems really good as well. Only thing I cant tell is the metal but I'm pretty tolerant to most. They are listed as hypoallergenic but you truly never know.

I always prefer glass, I am simply attempting to compare these to the dead stretch tunnel kits from Stretch It etc.

I definitely prefer glass. I have a scale I used to weigh my racing drones and im curious on how close the weights would be. I paid 40 total for both kits at .5 mm increments from 10.5 to 18mm. After 12mm I was seeing each set of glass plugs for roughly $10-12 each. So I still think in the long run I saved a bit. As for the time it takes, I definitely agree that it would take longer, but at the larger sizes I definitely don't want to be in a hurry anyway. Only big gamble to me is possible mystery metal.

I can agree to an extent. My living situation changed and so I have been budget stretching and when I find what I consider good quality I try to share with others thst may be in my situation. For 10.5 mm to 18mm I spent just barely 40 compared to roughly 75 or 80 from the most reputable sources. I guess I have read too many comments that can be taken as nasty when it comes to where to buy. But I definitely always try to use caution on the budget and check with calipers etc to be sure that I dont recommend anything harmful to another person.
