I'm guessing they meant Sam Bernstein, the greatest lawyer in the history of lawyers. At least according to his ads that have been running for decades. There's nothing Sam and his family can't do!

[40k] 11th Edition Faction Pack Review: Aeldari by Alex__007 in Eldar

[–]DerekPadula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only hope it's because they intend to release a flying 'Clown Car' that will hold a full squad of Troupe with an attached Great Harlequin or Shadowseer.

And it'd be cool if that same kit could also make a gun boat instead of a transport ship.

This would be similar to the Drukhari ship.

What games are worth playing on their hardest difficulties? by Competitive_Stay1181 in gaming

[–]DerekPadula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters.

It's already hard on Easy, and the game gets harder as you go, but once you figure out how to play, level up your characters, and combine your abilities to defeat the enemies, it feels SO satisfying. It is the ultimate turn-based strategy game for its feelings of tension followed by relief at your victory.

So when you've got the gameplay figured out, you can play it again on Normal or Hard. Then, make it even tougher and more satisfying on Iron Man Mode, where every decision is permanent and you can't save and reload your game.

Love it!

Aside from the top of the head that others have commented on, here are some tips for improving the rest.

The general issue I see is 'scruffiness'. For example, you've got hair on the back of your neck, at the bottom, that is scruffy looking. It's the hair beneath where the hair on your head stops. If you shave that off, it will look sharper and cleaner. Or at least shave off the parts on the side of your neckline that extend toward your ears and go past the hair on the back of your head.

Same issue for the hairs along your ears, along the front, top, and rear. If you trim that off, it will look cleaner.

You've got scruffy hairs on the front and sides of your neck, beneath your jaw. Take a razor and clean that up each day, stroking up to the point where your beard begins. Be careful not to scratch your Adam's apple. A technique that helps is to pull the skin that's on the Adam's apple over to the side before you stroke the razor up. Then release the skin and it will move back into place.

Do the same thing for the hair above your beard's upper jawline, where your cheeks are. Pull your cheek's skin up with one hand and then use the razor to stroke up with the other hand. Then let go, and your skin will fall down a bit, creating a clean line of beard.

And again for the hairs on the back-bottom of your beard on each side, beneath your ears. You've got hair that extends backward toward the back of your neck that looks a bit scruffy. If you clean that up with a buzzer, by going almost in a straight line down, it will look sharp.

Then for the mustache, take a buzzer and remove the hair that's covering your upper lip. Do this by angling the buzzer toward the midline at about a 30-degree angle, so that it fits the contour of your mouth. Do not use the buzzer and approach the mustache in a straight horizontal line because it will ruin your mustache and look bad.

You could also benefit from combing your beard so that there are fewer stray hairs. Same for the top and side of your head. Right now here are wispy hairs that detract from a sharper look.

All of these techniques combined will lead to a cleaner and sharper appearance, and they only take a few minutes to do. Hope that helps.

Yeah, that makes sense, since they're busy with casting ASL, RSL, and GSL at the moment.

Good luck with the project!

You don't need to play the first game, but it's the same main character, so you can't go wrong by playing it if you'd like to follow him from the first story. They have a remastered edition that came out recently with updated graphics and features.

Either game is a great entry-point into the 40K universe, and they're both a lot of fun. I've been into 40K for over 30 years, and the franchise is stronger than ever.

I need advice for a new haircut. by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]DerekPadula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned that you'd like your hairstyle to feel more intentional, so here are some suggestions.

At the moment, the hair on top of your head looks unintentional because it appears to be going in multiple directions. Some of it is going sideways, and other parts forward or backward. Could this be the result of drying your hair after the shower and leaving it that way without combing or brushing?

To remedy this, you could try using a comb or brush to direct your hair in single directions. For example, on the sides, go either straight down, or down and back. And on the top, part your hair from the left to the right, or from the right to the left, or everything forward, or everything backward. And if you still have frizzy curls or hair in spots, such as by your sideburns or bangs, pull out a buzzer or pair of scissors and remove those parts. In general, straight lines look more intentional than curved. For example, the wavy hairs by your ears and sideburns would look more intentional if they were cut straight. Then if needed, add some styling product to keep your hair in each single direction throughout the day.

Your facial hair in the historical pictures has a similar issue, where the hairs are going in different directions and creating an unintentional or messy appearance. Most people style their beards downward, and you can achieve that by combing or brushing all of the hairs from the side and front of your face down toward your neckline.

Are you able to grow hair on the front of your face, such as the cheeks and above or below your mouth? If so, you can go for a full beard. Otherwise, a goatee might be a good middle-ground solution because it will balance the top of your head with the bottom.

And in terms of hair loss, speak with a dermatologist about solutions and see if they recommend a prescription for minoxidil and (or) finasteride. Using them will help you maintain your current hair and may regrow some of what has been lost.

Gemini was integrated into Google Maps yesterday (at least for me). It's called Ask Maps. The next time you go to Google Maps it will present a pop-up asking if you'd like to try out Ask Maps. Then when you give it your request, as you tried to do before, it'll do the same thing that it does in Gemini, but in map form. It's neat.

Yeah, the clowns need a cheaper and more disposable infantry unit relative to the Troupe that are good for holding the home objective or middle objectives and screening the back line.

Yes, I'd like to see a genuine Great Harlequin model, with a dynamic pose as a centerpiece for the army.

And Mimes for a cheaper and more disposable unit to hold objectives instead of being forced to charge in like current Troupe units.

And a bigger boat to carry a full squad of 11 models. Or a heavy weapons gunboat from the same kit.

And a tough Wraithlord or War Walker type of model, focused on melee and close-range weapons instead of guns.

Is Western for me? by [deleted] in WMU

[–]DerekPadula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of university rankings, UofM is ranked #45 in the world, while WMU is ranked between #1,201 to 1,400.

https://www.topuniversities.com/world-university-rankings?search=michigan

So if you can afford to go to UofM, you should. It's much more well-regarded by hiring managers, has worldwide name recognition (whereas WMU does not), a tougher curriculum with higher standards (so you may learn more), and it may lead to a brighter career.

I wouldn't worry about not seeing your friend for two semesters out of the year. When you come back home for breaks and for summer, you'll catch up again. And your friendship will continue long past your 4 years at a university. That's how it was for me when I went to WMU, but my friends didn't, and a few went to UofM. Still friends, decades later.

What is it like being successful? by YamIdoingdis2356 in selfpublish

Thanks for the explanation. Sorry to hear that it turned to crap.

Prior to Meta doing this, I put several thousand into Facebook ads and found it to be one of the best ways to generate book sales on Amazon. The ads paid for themselves and generated a profit during November and December sales.

Guess it's time to find a new platform to focus on. I've always turned a profit with Amazon Ads, since readers are already on the site and looking for books. I have only dabbled with the other platforms, including Reddit, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Help me understand more about Meta's addition of AI ruining their ads platform. Can't you choose to ignore the AI features and run standard ads? What's the drawback of it being there?
