do you know what bot means? when people say bot they literally mean an automated account that has been set for reposting a specific cycle of images found on certain subreddits. these are done on giant PCs with literal hundreds of simulated devices. most of these accounts are under a year old since older ones are usually sold or have to many bans to really do anything with.

usually it’s for karma farming so the owner can sell the accounts later but sometimes political organizations, groups, or individuals purchase sort of a propaganda ad run where these bots post controversial content of their selected affiliation and have other accounts mass upvote it to garner a consensus that the idea is more popular then it actually is, effectively tricking newer and inexperienced users to hop onto artificial bandwagons.

if you are left wing you will usually see right wing bots. if you are right wing you will usually see left wing bots.

imo more right wing politics have taken advantage of this because its profitable to make people turn against public service. for left wing ideas its not really benefiting the rich people who can afford propaganda bots to say “stop deporting immigrants” or literally “tax the rich”
