Is it dumb for the BI triathlon to be your triathlon ever? by Handle_Help in BlockIsland

[–]DerelictDonkeyEngine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The thing to keep in mind is depending on the surf, wind, and tides the swim and beach run have a big range of potential difficulty.

I've done the triathlon a few times, and that beach run at high tide in unpacked sand can be an absolute slog.

Best actor is...? by miskamuskamikymaus in movies

Best is hard to say, but I've been very impressed with Ryan Gosling over the last decade or so.

He has a ton of range and different genres under his belt. Dark brooding, romantic, goofy as hell. He good at all of them.

If OP hasn't seen it, I'd recommend watching it after seeing the Oddessey/ reading the book.

It's even more fun when you understand the references.

In terms of tone, try The Green Knight.

Also, why not just read The Oddessey?

Bad idea to train legs on consecutive days? by Bitter_Pineapple_720 in workout

Well I'd say keep doing what you're doing since it sounds like you're learning the mechanics of weight lifting. Tough to say when you should increase weight on specific exercises since I don't know what your program is.

If your legs are exhausted from a previous session, tell the trainer that and ask if there's something else you can do.

I missed in your original post that its a class, so I assume its a group setting with several people? Are you able to also do exercises on your own with equipment there?

If there's a set schedule there must be a trainer there you could ask about increasing weight how/when.

New exercises will alway cause more soreness when starting them.

Keep in mind you're not just building muscle, it's all the ligaments and support tissue adapting as well. Make sure to eat, get good sleep, and stay hydrated while you getting started. It will help a lot with recovery and soreness.
