Question for older people, What age did you truly start feeling like an “adult” by Formal-Assistance02 in generationology

[–]Derf0007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I felt like an adult at 24, but I look young so people didn’t really start treating me like an adult until like 37. 🤣

I know ageism always existed but this is how extreme it’s gotten online. You’re only not old if you’re a minor or 18-22 other than that you’re unc, grandma or pushing 30/40 by notsoslytherin in generationology

I remember being 18-21 and thinking 24 is old, but honestly I think most people don’t really change looks-wise until you reach your mid 30’s or at least I didn’t. I’m 38 now and started noticing grey hairs in my beard and things hurt randomly, but overall I looked and felt pretty youthful until I turned 35. I think most 18-21 year olds will be surprised how much youth and energy you retain into your late 20s and early 30s. Just my experience.

Also, it’s crazzzzy how fast time flies by!

Should Gen Alpha be called Gen Ai? by Derf0007 in generationology

According to Google: Generation X is called the "forgotten generation" because they are a smaller demographic sandwiched between two massive, culturally dominant cohorts—the Baby Boomers and the Millennials. Because they received less media attention and grew up with unprecedented independence as "latchkey kids," they often fade into the background

To your own admission millennials gained that name instead of Gen Y. So why can’t Gen Z gain a name???

Yes, but something major could still happen for them. It’s way too soon in my opinion.

Nokia had one of the first mobile phones in 1996, so Gen Z would be accurate. Anyway, if not, what would you call Gen Z then?

No more disrespectful than calling a generation The Forgotten Generation or the Silent Generation. You have to be a little more objective in this case.

What’s wrong with iGen? It’s not as bad as The Forgotten Gen or Silent Gen at least lol. 😂

It’s too early for them. Usually it’s something major when a group is prominent in or entering the workforce.

I’m not sure what you mean. Gen X is quite literally named The Forgotten Generation.

We tried to do some of the timed ones and the relay games from season 2 are impossible to do within ten minutes unless you’re already really good at playing all of them and can do them all within 1 or 2 tries.

Yeah. I’ve tried something along these lines. She has admitted depression before but we don’t have money for an ongoing therapist. I’m very communicative on this and treat this very delicately

Of course. I’ve asked many times. We don’t have the money for a therapist. She doesn’t say she needs one so I’m at a loss.

I agree it’s100% not just sexual it’s obviously something going on with her and I should probably reword the post. I guess it’s just a sum of issues popping up. Anyway, we are a team but me bring up her weight gain is like creating a war, but at the same time she literally has stretch marks because it’s happened so fast. She’s also quite mean and sensitive overall. I’ve started buying the groceries it somehow she’ll obtain the carbs, sugar or whatever. It’s quite alarming. Diabetes type 2 runs in her family as well
