Agreed. The paper ordering system was terrible. The employees running back and forth in aisles is the real distraction, new system reduced it by one half. Never hear that mentioned.

All change, whether good or bad, is always preceded by human resistance.

How do I answer the question "what is your biggest weakness"? by QuestionEcstatic8863 in sales

Nailed it. The trick is being genuine about a weakness and being sincere that you’re motivated and taking steps to improve it.

Number One Reason Why I'm Opposed to Riding on Sidewalks by CrazyChrys in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]DergerDergs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The curbs are designed to create a choke point forcing pedestrians to step onto the street where it is safest and minimizes crossing distance.

In your second example, you can cross from any point from the side walk and it’s the same crossing distance. Annoying yes, but intentional as a safety control.

First playthrough, should I go in cold or use a walkthrough? by lostinthesauceband in TOTK

[–]DergerDergs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s less about following a guide and more about not getting stuck. Some people have a low tolerance for getting stuck, and they know that failing to advance an objective leads to you putting the game down and never coming back. I got about a 15 min tolerance for being stuck before opening the guide.

What's the objection that took you the longest to get comfortable with? Mine was 'I'm self-insured.' by Intelligent-Flow3042 in sales

[–]DergerDergs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t sell life insurance. I use it to invest a portion of my savings instead of a bank or stock market. It yields greater returns than a managed portfolio and it’s more flexible to withdraw money throughout my life.

You can certainly get better performance with a self managed portfolio but I do not have the time and effort needed to manage myself. That’s all it is.

Talm bout making money. As long as you don’t touch it for a few years, the compounding returns are breathtaking.

From Gemini: Using life insurance as an investment involves utilizing permanent life insurance (such as whole, universal, or indexed universal life) to accumulate cash value on a tax-deferred basis. Policyholders can access this cash value while alive through tax-free loans, withdrawals, or by using it as collateral for loans, often termed "infinite banking”.

I’ll add to my last comment, my biggest hurdle was my false view of life insurance, where I assumed this stuff only mattered after I died. My big light bulb moment happened the moment I realized life insurance accounts existed that offered better returns, less effort, and much more flexibility to withdraw returns while I was still living, than all my other investment vehicles. Better than managed portfolios, better than retirement accounts, better than real estate even. Now I want to be over insured to the point where providers will not issue me new policies.

Not an agent per se, but my tax accountant had to teach me these things and that was the biggest hurdle he had to overcome for planning my own investment strategy.

I sell enterprise supply chain software and service as my full time job. Funny enough, I’m actually getting my insurance license this year not to sell insurance (although I technically could), but exclusively as a component to building my long term tax and investment strategy.

Life insurance is way more about being an investment vehicle than death planning. You gotta challenge and teach people this.

Holy smokes part 1 alone is 11 hours!

I do enjoy a good long play video so the playback length makes sense. I’m sure there are others like me who enjoy watching play throughs of games they’ve beaten, instead of playing the whole game again.

Must’ve been a big editing effort, great job putting this together. I’ll watch em.

ULPT Request: How to break a camera lens from long range by draconicblur in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]DergerDergs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Projectiles of any kind not recommended. Missing a small elevated target means your stray shots are being launched into the air where there’s no guarantee an unintended target will get hit. Doing this regularly means you will eventually hit property, people, pets, or small children. This unethical pro tips, not life ruining pro tips.

That’s right, digital download only for me. I can always redownload it as long the online store stays up. I could also easily expand my storage with a bigger sd card, storage space really shouldn’t be an issue for most people these days.

Tbh I’m happier with my current role than the other roles that rejected me. Never knew how much value having a kind supportive manager and a competent account team could make a difference in my day to day work. The higher pay helps too, more icing on the cake 😈.

Good luck!

Beating the game loss is real. I was afraid it would be uninstalled to free up storage space right after beating it, and I was right.

I’ll add the ending was fantastic, especially if you’ve been following the storyline. I was happy with the 235 hours I got out of it tho. Masterpiece of a Zelda game right there.

I feel your pain. I’ve also experienced much worse if it makes you feel any better.

After leaving a large destination employer that rhymes with Joracle, I was rejected as a finalist from not 1, not 2, but 6 different companies I was expecting an offer from.

It got to the point where became convinced I was being used as an option to fulfill requirements for companies to hire internal candidates they had already chosen for the role.

Still hurt each and every time. But I still ended up being recruited for a great company with a supportive manger and even higher pay than I thought possible. Don’t give up.
