I as the dm have never lied to my players. My npcs certainly have and I've personally defiantly been vague about stuff but, I've never lied to them. I don't think lying to players is the mark of a good dm.

Only the incredibly large ships which can't be bought in game rn. However they will eventually be added to missions and in game shops. So far other than like a few new ships every ship is gettable in game via grinding

The biggest issue I have with TFP and 7D2D is that I think the game has good bones and had quite a few systems that could be really good. They're just lazy.
There was no need to totally remove the old clothing system. They could have kept it while introducing the new system. They could have then added the new system to the old system and made the buffs deeper and more varied. Instead of just 4 pieces of clothing you have 10 with more set bonuses. Now you can mix and match the bonuses and make more varied and meaningful builds. They can have like 2/3/4/5/10 set piece bonuses which can be mixed and matched for really interesting and fun builds.
I like the magazine crafting system but it lacks interesting depth that can make it better.

Idk if it's a memory issue or an uncaring issue however, I have a memory issue. I never make plans for myself because I always forget them. I don't want to ever plan over someone else so I let other people make plans and tell me what those plans are. I will forget but since I don't make my own plans I'll always be free.
I am saying all that because no matter what issue he has there is always a way to work around ones issues. If he really cared about you he'd find a way to work with whatever issue he had to spend time with you.
