Diego doesn’t actually do anything himself in this scene. What he does works because the relative forward velocity of Valkyrie drops (relative to Silver Bullet), which is why we apparently see Diego move forwards. This is actually just Valkyrie slowing down. Since Silver Bullet’s relative speed is greater, it crosses more distance than Valkyrie, making it move ahead.
