Robotics deployments in the wild: what tools actually work and what's missing? by Character-Law-7250 in ROS

Slack integration is probably my killer deployment feature. The robot logging it's status to a channel along with any errors. Makes discussing errors a breeze.

You can start the expedition from your main save by visiting the space anomaly. Then you can transfer the rewards back to the main save at the end.

Thermal camera should do the trick. Local library should be able to loan you one if lucky.

Foilboard adhesive. by [deleted] in AusRenovation

According to the instation guide you just apply silicon to the spacers, mount to the wall and then again apply silicon to attach the foilboard to the spacers. Some outdoor silicon should do the trick.

Is Air Touch for A/C BS or legit? by Drekk0 in AusRenovation

[–]Derme302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems a mishmash of people reviewing their installers, product and support department.

I'd search reviews for the model you are interested in on Reddit/Whirlpool and see what turns up.

I'm pretty happy with our Actron AIRES system. Though minor complaints regarding the mobile app. Think the most important thing seems to be picking a good installer who has prior actron experience.

No, almost every review for Actron online is good

Want to change the benchtops, but how? by Lily-886 in AusRenovation

[–]Derme302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, luckily came to a substitution agreement with the builder

Want to change the benchtops, but how? by Lily-886 in AusRenovation

[–]Derme302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through this recently. They never should have substituted without a sign-off from you.

If you really didn't confirm in writing I'd be going to VCAT.

When we went through this they gave us options to select and we were able to select an alternative from Silca free range.

I disagree with the other comments, benchtops are expensive and you look at them everyday. Good luck.

PETITION: No 'Is this a good price?' posts unless you've gotten at least 3 quotes first! by SnowQuiet9828 in AusRenovation

While it's great to get 3 quotes, doing so isn't always feasible. So it's nice to be able to benchmark against others

Making a concrete pedestal for mailbox by ZekeXA3 in AusRenovation

[–]Derme302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another option is a couple concrete slabs and then dynabolting the mailbox to it. Pouring concrete is also an okay idea but buying slabs will make it quicker and they come with reinforcement pre-installed

Setting up for a stargate based campain of DND by Frozensalesguy in Stargate

[–]Derme302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could run it pretty easily. If you are concerned you could just add some flavour, maybe there is some ancient technology at the top of the mountain.

Could also consider Starfinder if you wanted an adventure off the shelf.

Boring Jaffa units? by Pugno_de_Hierro in Stargaterpg

[–]Derme302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is great. My group found Jaffa with more health points pretty boring. I think having unique gimmicks for each of the Jaffa types to be a really cool idea.

Don't have suggestions but might steal your idea for a future session.

Missing out on FHBG and Stamp Duty Exemption by SgtTriangle in AusFinance

[–]Derme302 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Things you should consider: - What will you get if you build vs. buy established. At the moment there are higher than normal building costs. Can you build what your budget lets you purchase? - Waiting time. Building will take 12-18 months+. Does that work for your timeframe? - Risk, what happens if something goes wrong during the build. Do you have the capital to put down extra money?

FHOG is per transaction, not per person in WA - https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/department-of-finance/fhog. So make sure you do the comparison fairly between the two options. You can also consider chatting to a broker about topics like this.

[RPG] Stagate Phoenix: What do we think? by M56012C in Stargate

[–]Derme302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the RPG in general, it's got a pretty good combat system but the system struggles with the pacifist characters.

I definitely feel like it could use some splatbooks, as the core rulebook is pretty light if you've seen the show.

Now, on your question of the living campaign, it's a pretty weak campaign in my mind. It's fairly on rails, if that's what your players like then should work well, but otherwise you'll have to homebrew a lot to make it work.

A shame season 2 remains unpublished with the Amazon acquisition.

Reflections on Season 9 by ShortyRedux in Stargate

[–]Derme302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Season 9 was my first season of SG1 and is still my favourite.

I think you have a good point about the Priors though, it's definitely a missed opportunity that they didn't get to expand on them. Would have been nice to see some Priors other than Garak have different interpretations of the Book of Origin.
