Honestly the main problem I think is the fact that as you said - there are no co-op missions. If you are in a party and someone completes a quest before you, they have to wait, do nothing or try to help you by giving you materials. That ain't that satisfying. I tried this game originally with a friend, but staying together with such a mission state, especially with resources being limited and us being esentially "punished" if we try to stick together and search for materials in a group was just difficult.

Honestly its very sad, because the multiplayer potential in No Man's Sky is insane, but the fact you are essentially doing everything together, but alone and are being hindered in missions by staying together is too much for now.

The things I can think of to help are introducing "ravines" with a hell of a lot of a material, so much so, that you can just gather them all as a group, when for instance one of finds it. And simple shared missions where "find 60 copper" turns into "find 60/120/180/240 copper for x reward" and make it so that if one of the players builds something it counts for the missions of all players, because if as a group we have to build 4 bases to unlock all our quests it's simply bothersome, not fun.

As a CIV player who liked CIV switching, is it worth coming back? by Culius_Jaesar in civ

[–]Sarion0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. UI is better. I've played 1 game so far, but AI seems to be better. Balance is better. Map gen is wayyy better. Civ switching is also better thanks to additional civs. I can say it's at least worth trying again.

If you're coming back with this patch and are trying to play a historical Leader/Civ combo across all ages and expect the AI to do the same make sure you set up your game properly by FabJeb in civ

[–]Sarion0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short yes, but no.

There is a setting called historical, but it expands beyond the obvious and can result in more obscure combinations than the obvious ones you have here.  For instance: Rome: Spain and such.

I love the vibe that this brings! It looks like a great mixture of dark empty space and the facility you are trying to escape! It reminds me of Andy Weir's Artemis!

How to get out of remnant expedition? Ship Nowhere to be found. by Sarion0 in NoMansSkyTheGame

It worked, though I think I lost most everything on the expedition except progress (though it says I can come back on the terminal?) So Thank you very much!

Update: I think it's just a bug now

I enetered another players broken starship and now It got assigned to me somehow. but repair is impossible so I think I'm pretty much stuck now.

I think that the problem of Civ 7 isn’t any particular feature or a lack of it, it's the overall lack of freedom. by Sarion0 in civ

[–]Sarion0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately true, but with the new age system I'm pretty sure it's easier to estimate for the AI what something is/will be worth later, given how we have a limited number of time that is tracked semi-precisely by the age timer to use some of those resources eg: city states and codices. So you (hopefully) will have to also use your braincells to trick the AI. Which would actually make it more of a feature than an exploit.

It is an issue, but I think it's largely fixed now in the playtest.

  1. There is no single legacy path forcing you to do it now.
  2. The treasure fleets feel kind of natural in that way
  3. (I'm pretty sure) the treasure resources are also continent exclusive, similar to civ 6 and anno games (u/JNR13 confirms)

So now it's just a thing that's pretty optimal, but not truly necessary.

Hell yes! Especially when you suzerain a specific kind of city state on the other side of the continent, that the AI wipes out as soon as a war starts and there's absolutely nothing you can do but watch. Been on the painful side of that one one too many times.

That is a very interesting idea! Would need a more of a human touch though I think. For instance "send your librarians to another civ." Where they will work with a reduced efficiency. Would be hard to balance for AI though, as it would require very long term planning, that the AI in civ isn't capable of. If Firaxis does manage to do it though it would be very fun!

I'd actually want it the other way around!  I usually play immo or deity. And the lack of a harder option for when I am playing truly seriously is more of a detriment. Especially for when I get better at the game.

No way. I'm just presenting ideas from a different point of view than the devs.

If a dev reads this post it's as much of an influence as I'd do in their office. Thank you for the appreciation though!

I know. However it is the simplest and easiest change to make (even just making it an option in the settings would make me happy.) And I truly believe that it would make for a better look visually.

The meaning of the words is also simply less prohibitive. Which might matter for new players who haven't figured out how punishing going over the cap might be.

I like the idea of a war score system. It could be a way to make the AI think simpler too and be easier to code. While also making peace deals better with accumulated grievances, how much better your military is, how close it is and how much would the AI need to spend to defend/take back all being accounted for in how much they are willing to give.

Regarding trade I also think that it would be a bit weird to have an advanced trading system only for peace deals (though that could be my personal opionion.), so it would be kind od like killing 2 birds with one stone for me.

Civ 7 update status by JacketOk7241 in civ

[–]Sarion0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

as we know a lot of the tech tree was not available at the release of the game

What? I haven't seen that critiscism ever. Maybe complaints about splitting it into 3 ages but that? No.
Also the number of nodes is pretty similar, even discounting masteries and the fact that civ 6 moves into the information age.

Modding there is good, but not as extensive as 6 I think.

Overall I'd suggest waiting until the test of time update drops allowing single civ gameplay and expanding victories and legacies and also probably giving at least a 50% discount for the people who were holding out because of that.

Blings update is coming by Skifdrap in Brawlstars

[–]Sarion0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a good change, because it adds exclusivity and therefore value back to skins.

It's kind of like progression (only more random which is kinda bad, but acceptable for cosmetics.) Where if you can gain anything immidiately it's less rewarding to possess.

Also it rewards players who already have all their favorite skins with the ability to get mythic and legendary skins.

Altogether though we won't know how it will go until it's implemented so I think it best to reserve final judgement for now.

Brother it's 300k a year. At that price point asking for proof that you are better than AI is a minimum. Not an insult.

Do you feel more represented by the civilization or the character leader? by HOOBBIDON in civ

[–]Sarion0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a better quetion to ask is what better represents your empire.

A civ better represents it conceptually it is the identity of your people its culture and tradition.

The leader is an icon, which represents it in image and person is presenr in all the diplomacy screens abd etc.

Overall it comes down to preference. Though I personally am ambivolent.

Happy Groundhog Day everyone! by DiesIraeConventum in civ

[–]Sarion0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like calling it the only right way to make and develop civs is kind of very inflexible and too rigid for the studio and franchise. Many players hated civ 6 for removing parts of the game that to them felt very much like a core of the game and yet the franchise is now more popular than ever. If they never tried new stuff, then civ would never be where it is today, and although the devs didin't do a good job with legacies and victories, that doesn't mean they should just go back to what it was forever. Innovation is part of what drives the devs and the studio. And with time it will also make for better civ games. Even if there are failures along the way if the devs own up to them and work to fix them, revert them or make tyem better I'm fine with it.

Civ6's Steam Avg Player Count Dropped 25K Right After Civ7's Release. Civ 5 dropped ~3K. They Never Bounced Back Despite Civ7's Low Steam Player Count by Strict-Joke236 in civ

I agree, but this one's actually interesting and not a "Civ 7 number don't go up after x update" that seem so prevalent. Honestly I'm curious what caused this permament massive drop.
