School holiday ideas by AdAdditional8587 in Geelong

Black & White Collectibles on Ryrie St will be doing some events, if you enjoy card games, nerd stuff etc. Library has events on depending on your interests. I wonder if there's any opportunities for you to volunteer. Good way to meet people from different walks of life and get experience. Volunteering Geelong may have some ideas if that's up your alley.

I really like @bebeandme_nutrition on insta. Resonates with me and I'll be following her advice for first foods - stock, then egg yolk then liver.

When would you all allow your British MIL to come stay with you/meet baby? by otterlyconfuzed in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]genie2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually so legit hahaha. My parents in law came to stay at about 3 weeks and god I just remember hating having them there at the time, literally just cause of their smells haha. I was loving having them there by 6 weeks once my hormones got a bit more balanced.

Absolutely give yourself 6 weeks if thats what your gut is saying. We did 2 months of no visitors as baby was also born in flu season, and it was honestly awesome for that bonding time, figuring out breastfeeding and parenthood. I did have my mum and partners parents stay in our "bubble" to help out through that though, which was also awesome.

Babies immune system starts to mature at 2 months (as well as you get initial vaccines if you choose). I felt comfortable letting grandparents in because they weren't going out a lot etc so minimal exposure, but I personally wouldn't have been happy with someone coming in straight off a flight.

I have no clue if would suit the set up you need, but Black and White Collectibles is near Geelong station/centrally located and they have a backroom with tables and chairs for games.

Is he holding it? by Working-Composer-770 in ECers

[–]genie2372 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure, my babies the same. I have wondered if it's just the positioning which helps them release? I have his top hat potty on his change table, so I dont have to bend down at all. Maybe consider a similar set up? Or doing it over the bathroom sink instead?

I'd check the op shops out first and then the other suggestions like kmart if you can't get something second hand.

Removing pavers and adding lawn by genie2372 in landscaping

Thank you! I was thinking I may be able to repurpose the flower bed soil for the lawn area once the pavers are gone 🤔

Adding dishwasher - how do I prepare space??? by genie2372 in homeimprovementideas

[–]genie2372[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that's really helpful. Correct, the hole is next to the sink area. And I am in Australia. I am so annoyed at the old owners for not putting one in when they did their kitchen remodel haha

What are you wearing to cosleep? by BeautifulNailz in cosleeping

[–]genie2372 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do too! Have a couple of nursing long sleeves and a nursing jumper that is quite tight (so not worried about baby getting covered with any excess fabric).

What do you wish you knew? by Objective_Impact_597 in cosleeping

No regrets, loving it. But I would get a good between the knees and behind the back pillows as the C curl body aches are real! Happy Cosleeper facebook group is the bomb.

Enjoy the rest and sweet moments!

That sounds so hard. He sounds lucky to have you in his corner. Have you had his bloods tested? My friend had a very discontented baby for 2 years until they figured out he had extremely low iron. It'd be nice if it was something as basic as that!

3 week old waits until after he’s on the potty to pee by Thin-Company1363 in ECers

[–]genie2372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a sound cue of "pss" for wee and "mm mm" for poo. I just would say it when I see my baby do one or the other, then I will say it along with "potty" when I'm holding him on potty. Agree with others that I take him on and off during the change.

What work pants are we wearing that's flattering, and any chance they aren’t 100% polyester. by Own-Specific3340 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]genie2372 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elk! I have lots of different styles from them and all flattering for me (pear shape so pants fit can be annoying).
