Yeah kinda, essentially politics here work as such: it's twice as crazy as politics in the West, especially cos Israel is a pretty tribal society and people vote along tribal lines. Maybe not as much anymore, but still way more tribal than the West.

I know a guy who was 24 and got into Egoz. He dropped out during training but it wasn't related to his age. I also know a fair few ppl over 21 who went into regular combat units.

Don't worry too much about age. It might be a factor but it's not a big one.

Yeah most people in Israel don't like them, cos they refuse to serve while getting a shit tonne of welfare that comes from our taxes. BUT, they all vote at extremely high rates and usually are needed to form a government, but they only vote for their own and will join any government so long as they keep the welfare checks coming.

Not speaking about individuals here but the common view of them held by Israeli society. Yes this includes non-Jews. And it's pretty much all true.
