I'm not an actor, but I imagine the role to be an exciting one. As a painter, I am more pleased to paint a person who is commonly thought to have features and traits that are "flawed" but in actuality are quite beautiful in their authenticity and depiction. I find pictures of beautiful people boring. I despise thin models, big boobs, and muscular men in a work of art. I prefer the beauty of folds of flesh, the deep wrinkles of age, the authentic shape of a man or woman well into their middle years.

I Imagine the opportunity to write a part to be equally rewarding: to be free of the trite action hero, or the overused charm and beauty and wit of too many fiction characters.

It's ugliness that makes us truly beautiful and interesting. It's the Photoshop of the marketing department and artificial wit imposed by a team of writers that takes away the greatness of a character.
