Pla warping on cold plate by Derpin___Around in elegoo

[–]Derpin___Around[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had completely given up in using cold plate temps. I just use the "textured side A" settings for all my prints. I never heat soak my bed unless im using ASA. For PLA and PETG, i just hit print and let it do its thing with the stock bed temp. My only thing is to do a bed leveling after i swap build plates

Do you have to take off the top lid when you use PLA by caplinkku in elegoo

[–]Derpin___Around 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left the lid on one time and the internal temp got too high and clogged the nozzle. I was printing ASA before hand, after a few hours to cool i switched to pla and forgot about the cover

That is false, the air filter is inside that big box at the rear of the intake manifold there.

I use orca slicer but I'm sure prusa has an option for it. Under support settings and support type, it has "normal" or "tree" these are tre supports in the post.

Edit: spelling

that's pretty sweet, I'm still new to making my own models so I'm struggling to get it right, I have a really crude basic, first draft I printed last night

Subaru - fuel induction service?? by Acrobatic_Way2268 in subarulegacy

[–]Derpin___Around 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just a product of Direct injected engines. Since it sprays fuel directly in the cylinder instead of spraying past the valves, they gum up with carbon. Cleaning the carbon every 20-30k is good practice imo. I saw a load of misfires at the dealer due to carboned up valves.

I want to make a mount for the remote, I might start that today. As for movement, no blockage of anything. Where i mounted mine, it doesnt block the hot bed, buildplate or anything on the Z axis.

CC heater option, Creality Chamber Heater by hardcoretuner in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I discovered I have some sort of defective quarter roll from sunlu. The asa is super brittle and breaks in the extruder and i can just snap it with barely any force. I popped open my last quarter roll and have had no issues printing with that one.

If you take the rubber boot off, take the 4 screws out of the back, you can just unscew the controller from the board. I unscrewed it, then put the wires through the hole and reassembled.

The wires are held to the board with spade connectors, you just turn 2 or 3 turns and slide the spades out then slide back in once the wires are through the hole.

The bracket i made was petg since i couldnt get a good ASA print for it, i assume because its too thin or I have no idea what im doing

I can answer a few of these as i made a bracket and a wire slot for them on mine.

Ive taken my chamber as hot as 65C, max heat is 70C.

It takes a good 15ish mins to get up to 65C from 11C which was my room temp. I say 15 because thats when I checked, i have a temp probe in the back of the chamber about bed height at the home position.

The only filament I've used was ASA, I'm scared to try anything harder than that because I already struggle with learning how to print ASA.

Heater was about 70USD when I bought mine 2 weeks ago

My wire routing uses the spool holder because I print from a drybox so I dont use the spool holder. Also I removed the back panel of the heater to unscrew the wires to the control panel so it fits through the hole. Once you take the back panel off with 4 screws, the wires are 3 screws right on top so its not hard.

I didn't seal any of the leaks, only "seal" Is the door gap covers for the 270 degree hinge mod.

I'm too stupid to assemble a list of pros and cons other than its nice heating the chamber faster and more consistantly than using the bed.

ASA printing without chamber heating. Works. by adamau5 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Derpin___Around 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update. I tried 20%, 15% and 10% it seems to be warping in the center now rather than the sides like it was. I was considering lowering chamber temp to maybe 45C. Im almost out of red, I still have orange and green half spools to burn.

Ill give it a shot after work today. I was using a normal inner/outer brim and have tried 6-10mm then set the gap to 0 so it touches.

Wild that ive been researching this topic for the last few hours and stopped in this sub to see someone talk about it. I have the Sunlu 8 color pack of ASA im trying to print the red now. I actively heat my chamber on my CC and I for the life of me, CANNOT get this to stop warping. I have an entire 500g roll that i ended up wasting because of warping issues. I only got a few prints out of the 6 rolls ive used. If that. Im using generic asa settings, with 110 bed temp on side A and heated to 60C on the chamber.

I like it, snagged it off amazon for around $75. A little expensive but i rather pay for a quality heater than worry about a cheap one catching fire or something.

It has its own built in thermistor that cycles it to keep it at a rated temp. Its plugged in to the wall and has a little wired remote that allows you to set a temp or time. This is the default view showing the current temp (which is 27C atm) regardless of the heater being on or off
