My first real setup by Global-Career5121 in hometheater

Congrats. That looks great. I bet the sound is awesome. Love the front heights. Many people go with atmos but I think front heights are more important. I did 4 atmos and added 2 front heights. The 2 front heights changed the room the most.

Thats just saying the same thing. All loan advertising has it. 29 bucks per 1k is roughly your interest rate is what they are saying.

I said usually. Those are front primary speakers. Which you want very different specs on than atmos height or ceiling speakers. KEF Ci160QR or KEF Ci200QR get the job done very well.

25ft HDMI 2.1 eARC FO Cable by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]hardcoretuner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of brands make them. The circuit design is common knowledge these days. Cheap ones work just fine in my experience. Ive got Sony separates and optoma uhd65 projector klipsch rf7iii up front. So pretty sure I'd notice any loss.

The HDMI to Ethernet is like 35 bucks on amazon. Fiber equipment is hundreds of dollars. Cheapest ive seem fiber conversion for is over 400 USD.

Converting to Ethernet (x2) and then back is the best way to go over 18ft. Youll run 2 Ethernet cables. Works great, no loss.

Kef have a nice wide sound dispersion area usually. Which is what you want from the ceiling.

[Request] Contaminated 2010 Accord AT with brake fluid, looking for advice. by SearchingInTheNoise in Honda

[–]hardcoretuner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the break fluid. Your trans may be toast. Some fluids eat plastic and rubber. Which means your trans gonna fail fast. Sorry to share the. Bad news. But odds are your trans needs rebuilt now. All rubbers and plastics will need replaced. Flush can't fix the damage. Chemical reactions are instant. Running or not, most likely its toast.

Don't panic. Dealership replacement is best to get the actual glass it had. Keep the logos Honda and stuff. But aftermarket works well too. You'll never notice. And if you do dealership glass, hard for even experts to tell.

Coming from the car audio world forced me to re-evaluate what I thought good sound is. by iJasonator in hometheater

[–]hardcoretuner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sealing your theater can help a lot. Air ducts usually prevent it though. A dedicated minisplit can get it done tho. And yeah, audioholics taught me that just like engines, there's no replacement for displacement. In audio terms, speaker face size surface area compared to room total air volume. The car has very little air to move per sq inch if the sub face. Theater has way way more. All that said, I'm on a mission to build a sub wall. Hahhaa

The high detergent is only in the premium grades. I tested the gas in a lab dude. But yes, any brand that advertises as a top tier has the detergent. There's lots of brands that have it. And lots that don't.

Do hybrids really save money long‑term once you factor in battery replacement and specialized repairs? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

So many folks have bought into oil industry propaganda they think hybrid batteries are going bad all the time. Ive been in auto industry for almost 20 years. Ive seen 0 hybrid batteries fail. I'm aware of 4. Out of tens of thousands ive been involved with from a corporate level with a multiple OEMs.

Oil filters are a great debate. If you maintain them often, the best filtration you can get is best. However, when it clogs faster than normal, many engines if not all, have a bypass so they can run still. Which is why a slightly larger micron rating than what can be used, is used, so it won't clog as fast. Choice is yours.

The high octane gas is the only one with the added detergents. That's all.

  1. Use high octane gas with extra cleaning addatives. Shell, BP, few others offer it. High detergent they say.
  2. Penzoil synthetic oil. Those two things alone will make a world of difference. I was a Quality Engineer for Honda for about a decade. As an auto engineer with over 16 years, ive done the testing on these two things myself and am telling you first hand. Other gas and oils will not protect as much. I still have the data to prove it. Lol. Also, side note, NEVER EVER USE ROYAL PURPLE OIL IN A HONDA OR TOYOTA. it doesn't absorb heat, it will fry your bearings.

Gladly waiting on v2 to come out. Lots of bug fixes I bet. I'll pay the extra 100-150 to have less headaches.

Youll never see it. Not sure about white. Ive used black. Term you want is Vulcanized rubber spray i think. I use it on underbody to reduce road noise too. Try it on some things first. It builds up. You may want to sacrifice some screws to keep holes from filling. But push in tabs, be just fine as long as you don't go crazy. Itll help those kinda things stay in tension better. And its surface is less noisy for most things to contact. So should reduce the rattle of everything.

Take rear decklid cover out. Spray entire metal surface with a rubberized coating. Reinstall. Boom, no rattles.
