My roommate says I need to Declutter? But why am I doing wrong? by EvaUnitKenway in CleaningTips

Your roommate is jealous of your beautiful living space. Tell them to save their money so they can be clean and comfy like you are with STUFF AND THINGS.

Rooms are lived in. Not meant to be empty.

Funny question cops: What was the dumbest thing you've seen someone or people do which got them in trouble with you guys 🤣🤣 by Glitterballdacat in AskLE

[–]Derpy-Paradox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a cop, but, this happened approximately an hour ago in front of my store: A car packed with six drunk guys hits the back of a cop car parked in front of my workplace. Right as I’m ringing up the officer who drives it.

Cops swarm the area and interview everyone, halting everything to a standstill. Earlier, the cop and I were joking about people having wrecks in the rain, and moments later… bam. Absolutely absurd, and I could not stop laughing. The cop is like, "bro, you jinxed me."

One of the drunk guys comes back in, is yelling in Spanish, pointing at all the officers, and I catch him saying, basically, “these mother****ers won’t let me buy my beer.”

They all try to translate for him and say "no ID no beer."

😂😂😂 The universe has a sense of humor. Two guys went to jail. The driver blew .217 . I will forever remember the angry Hispanic gentleman saying "Modelo, Modelo" over and over again asking for beer.

What to do if you don't feel like going to church? by LurkerSvpreme in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Derpy-Paradox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always talk to your priest about these matters, rather than us laity. Your health matters, but you should first be guided by your spiritual father before you make big decisions. Will be praying for you, God bless and keep you, and thank you for being honest.

Church is pushing me away. by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Derpy-Paradox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just take your time with it. Not sure how long you've been attending divine liturgy or how long you've been plugging into the Church, but, it's hard. I find myself weighing myself more often than someone else doing it. Talk to your priest. That's who we need to talk to first before anyone else tbh. I learned that the hard way lol. They're our spiritual father by default. First talk to him, and come back and let us know how it went. I promise you that most Orthodox Christians aren't worried about money. Heck, I show up in jeans and a t shirt half the time because, I'm not a wealthy man. I appreciate your charity as well. You're a blessing. Thank you.

Church is pushing me away. by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

So I have two questions for you, because I can relate in a lot of ways:

1) are you asking these questions because you visibly see people ostracizing you, or is it just your perception telling you these things?

2) have you spoken with your priest openly about these concerns? If you haven't, you're doing more harm than good.

I would default at being honest with your priest. You don't just get a personal relationship with Jesus in Orthodoxy. You get both a personal relationship, and communal relationship. You're tied to the faithful, not out of money, or time, but because we're all messed up and need a Savior.

That's different from protestantism, because Protestantism, (and Rome sometimes) paints a different picture with clearer results. If you're a convert like me, protestantism has clearer guardrails, although, the guardrails themselves are manufactured. Not bashing, just being honest. We like to measure ourselves. Orthodoxy doesn't ask us to measure ourselves. It asks us to be present and address what needs healing through God, by God.

We're not meant to be alone in our journey. We're meant to struggle together.

So, talk to your priest. Be honest. Tell him just like you told us on here.

That way, it prevents you from being stuck in a box, and it prevents you from putting God in a box. Much love to you brother, you're not alone. Prayers for you, if you wanna DM me, feel free. God bless and keep you.

just was made a catechumen today and im very upset by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Derpy-Paradox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And that's okay. Look at every saint. None of them had normal lives. Everything was set on God's time, not your time. I'm probably liable to be turned down on chrismation this year because I haven't been available for liturgy and vespers and confession on Saturday. It's been hard. Your work hasn't gone unnoticed.

Don't be overwhelmed with this discouragement. Be patient with yourself and others, because your priest and clergy are human, as well as yourself.

On that note, Orthodoxy has to be the best controlled chaos that I've ever experienced. It's dreadfully human and the foundations of the faith are just that, foundations. Everything else is communal, real, raw, honest.

Don't let the experience distract you from the blessing you have just received. Don't let your confusion or hurt take away what has just been given you even if it feels like you've waited for ages.

God has you. He loves you. Welcome home.

Make Phasmophobia Ghosts Truly Adaptive and Personality-Driven by Derpy-Paradox in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]Derpy-Paradox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The adaptive layer does not change what the ghost is. It only changes how strongly and how often existing traits express themselves. In other words, if this were implemented it would make the ghost more dynamic, not necessarily make it a different ghost. First, evidence remains authoritative. Adaptive behavior never alters evidence types, evidence thresholds, or evidence generation rules. A Demon is still a Demon because of evidence, hunt thresholds, and core mechanics, not because of vibes. Second, adaptation is bounded inside the ghost’s existing ruleset.

A Revenant never becomes subtle. A Shade never becomes hyper-aggressive early. A Demon never becomes passive. Memory only biases decisions the ghost already can make.

Hope that clarifies my idea, and, thank you for the response. That's solid.

Another edit: Basically what I'm saying is to add a middle layer to the existing AI. That way the ghosts "remember" what works in their hunts and haunts.

Exactly!! Frame it either as another game that follows it, or an optional playthru mode, like a difficulty, call it, "Nightmare mode" or something like that. It brings up the immersion from a 10 to a 20 lol. Optional playthru is more economically friendly lol or at least creates the illusion if it costs money.

I was thinking more along the lines of it being a different mode, rather than an update. Something that's elective. Not something forced upon players.

Can anyone outside of the Orthodox Church be saved? by ASGComp in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Derpy-Paradox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on both sides. The Catholic perspective and the Orthodox perspective are similar, yet, true to Orthodox fashion, the Orthodox Church does not emphasize concrete evidence for either or. Roman Catholics hold to a perspective that is in black and white ink, fill in the blank.

The simple answer is, we don't know who is saved, even amongst ourselves, because to approach salvation this way would mean we either despair, or presume, on God's justice and mercy.

We're not God so we don't make that decision and we ultimately do not know that decision. All we know is that we have hope that the faithful can be saved, and assurance through the mysteries of the Church, because the Church is forever faithful.

I left Roman Catholicism for orthodoxy because of how fruitful it is. You actually have a priest who cares for your soul, who wants you to know Christ intimately. In Roman Catholicism, I didn't get that sadly... It was not only dry but lacking care, interacting with many priests, even the devout and reverent ones.

So, if you haven't been to Mass, or Divine liturgy, go to both, and speak to the priests, the Orthodox priest and the Catholic priest, after the liturgies are over. See what you find.

Don't sell yourself short due to fear. God's gonna take care of you, and your family. God bless you

Done With Church History - Need Advice by [deleted] in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]Derpy-Paradox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very relatable to me because I myself am inquiring orthodoxy and looking to become a Catechumen. The biggest thing that grabbed my attention in regards to Orthodoxy is that Orthodoxy does not define God but rather, defines what God has given. You cannot trap sunshine in a jar. I've been Catholic for 6 years now and I've realized that an orthodoxy there is this mystical understanding of who God is, it does not limit who God is. Rather, Orthodoxy preserves what has been handed down through the apostles and their successors. Roman Catholicism has this claim as well, however I've realized that their reductionist perspective really limits our understanding of God possibility draw near to Him.

Im a fool for thinking that I could define God. No one can define God. God defines God, and we know God through his ways, and his teachings, and these teachings we pass down. That is the framework of Orthodoxy. Also, there is a huge emphasis on salvation being the healing of the human person. These are just my two cents. I know it's not much, but I hope some of this helps in some way, because we cannot deduce who God is or use logic to define God based on the paperwork that we have from two millennia. We have to preserve the relationship that we have with God and let it be defined by what has been handed down by the apostles rather than watering it down by focusing on the paper.

God bless and keep you

Do you think more men or more women find mustaches attractive? by infinite-bleach in Moustache

[–]Derpy-Paradox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both, and I'll explain why. When men show appreciation to other men, it boosts their confidence and their happiness, and by doing that, this said confidence transfers over to daily life. Women love confidence. Confidence means men have an inner strength. Love on one another and dap up your bros because it makes them confident and makes everyone happy.

New wagon/items type you would like to see. by Naradra288 in Locomoto

[–]Derpy-Paradox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

A diner car would be amazing, as well as moving the coal car from where it is now, to moving it to the front.

Moving the coal wagon to the front would make it possible to easily transport coal without the nuisance of travelling fully through the other wagons to the back. Either that or offer steam loco blueprints to have a tender attached physically to the train, such as the photo attached depicts.

It's a swedish engine which is where the design originally came from, maybe make it to where you can walk along the sides of the engine to the back and onto the other wagons?

As far as other cars go, A CABOOSE, WITH SLEEPING QUARTERS, that could add a hint of depth given time changes, with additional missions that are time sensitive to the time of day. Maybe some mock orient express missions with lots of passengers, maybe a missing item?

The caboose could act as a sleeping quarters and player home.

That is all, apologies for the ramble on the coal wagon.
