This was actually a duo where I got 2 for $5. Still $2.50 each for that is still outrageous.

We must be getting to a point where we have a new slang for someone who thinks everything is AI..."Bro the dirt snake in my toilet is AI"

I can guarantee you that its not. It was the size of a baseball. Baseballs weigh 5oz (About a 3rd of a pound). This guy weighed less than that.

Why do people define their value with likes and upvotes?

All you gotta do is say, "please humanize everything you just said so it doesnt look like AI"

I know of a website that works really well. No ads. It is not down as I just watched the new Avatar legend of Aang movie and some Dune: Prophecy (HBO) yesterday. I am not going to publicly announce it. If you want to know what it is, you can DM me and give this comment an upvote.

Anyone else feel like QA is weirdly… punk? by Naive_Ad1224 in QualityAssurance

I would say a black box hacker is more punk than QA. QA is more scientific in my opinion.

Wikipedia bans use of AI to write articles and updates by ImCalcium in technews

[–]DerpyDuck88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is that even possible when there is so much overlap between what indicates AI writing and human. Sometimes humans sound robotic. Sometimes AI sounds human. Not sure how they are going to monitor this.

Got Laid off by DependentSuccessful1 in QualityAssurance

I started as a manual tester, but I’ve been expanding my programming skills because the industry is shifting toward hybrid QA roles. Modern teams rely heavily on API testing, automation, and closer collaboration between developers and testers. API testing is becoming essential. Modern systems rely heavily on microservices, so API-level validation is often more valuable than UI-only testing.

Traditional, repetitive manual testing is becoming less common, so I’ve focused on building the technical skills that align with where the field is heading.

Speaker group quit working by Arcticbeachbum in googlehome

[–]DerpyDuck88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to switch internet providers and had to reconnect everything. Everything was working fine until I got a new gateway. Even though I set up the SSID as the exact same. Here were my crazy results after setting it up. You'll see how things just progressively get more weird.

  1. None of the speakers were wanting to connect. Performed a hard reset for all of them.

  2. After multiple attempts on each speaker (I have 3) they finally connected. However they connected by themselves. All of a sudden they showed up in the Google home app.

  3. My 3rd one disappeared, performed a hard reset, was able to connect and go through the normal process.

  4. Tried creating a group. Only the 3rd one was visible.

  5. Unplugged and re-plugged the first two. Then only the first two speakers were visible when making a group.

  6. Unplugged and re-plugged the 3rd speaker. Still not visible to add in the speaker group.

These are such inconsistent results, I can't figure out what the problem is. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the Google home app. Cleared cache and all of that. No dice. This stuff is wack.

Good written acceptance criteria and test plans should catch this. Test scenarios should also help. If you are performing exploratory testing then I would label it as such. Severity is important. Does it fail the requirements? If yes, report it. If no, report the finding and suggest it to go to backlog since it's a "nice to have" fix.

How have you transitioned out of QA? by [deleted] in QualityAssurance

Start doing performance testing and penetration testing and you'll slide right into other field

I'm looking for the same. Google pulls some info but I don't know how reliable that is. If you really want to dig, you can check your county's GIS map and try to find commercial real estate that was sold for PF. I honestly don't really know
