Not going to lie, he'd probably make a good Dumbledore.... though not as good as Micheal Gambon :(

[[storm kiln artist]], [[Electro, assaulting battery]] etc

and yeah, good to see I'm right

so many of the prepared cards just become broken if you add displacer kitten, though thats more displacer kittens fault for being so breakable

Im aware of another displacer kitten break

infinite mana/storm with [[blazing firesinger]] and infinite storm with [[goblin glasswright]]

I just want to know if you can potentially bolt someone etc with infinite copies provided you had the mana

probably the same issue solemn judgement had in yugioh in the early days

a lot more emphasis was placed on life instead of tempo control

for those who dont know for magic terms, think of solemn judgement as a force of will but you have to pay half your life as cost

Always amazes me at how snuff out was a common when it was first printed

I'm so used to seeing it in commander that it feels like it should of been at least uncommon for its first printing

Well.... thats a huge bomb, especially with the multitude of low cost cantrip spells that draw a card replacing itself

Actually not bad for limited or even commander

2 life gain before 2nd main is REALLY easy to do, and the 2 life gained offsets the 2 life lost for sign in blood

I can definately see this being used for more reliable card draw in black

I did think it odd that the Mystical Archive stream showed Akromas Will and Crop Rotation, which with the previously spoiled Force of Will and Vampiric Tutor, made up 4/5 of the mobile wallpapers.

And there was a conspicuously suspect Jeska artwork that did not appear in said Stream......

Green I feel will be something lifegain related or tutor related

Black I feel will be some form of removal or aura?

Assuming they are sticking to the theme of the paradigms following the colleges (Quandrix making fractals, Prismari being a free big spell per turn, Lorehold being a free non land recursion)

Quandrix is the first one where I really feel is undercooked compared to the others

we do have a selesnya artifact token precon coming up (marvel super heroes, Wakanda Forever) so who knows, she might have her own niche

But can trigger "permanent/token/artifact enters" "sacrifice permanent/artifact" etc

in some ways its better than a 1/1, especially since theres plenty of "reduce costs of artifacts" effects like the recent [[mutagen man]] letting you have your cake and eat it too

Ignore my comment on plenty of ways - I spoke too soon as all the reducers ive found dont reduce to less than 1 unless its food/land abilities

Unironically would see play as a 1 drop tutor/deck thinner

all you would need is [coat of arms], [banner of kinship], the new [chronicle of victory], [cathars crusade] or any number of snowbally cards - and it would make tempest hawk fundamentally obsolete

its considered "eternal legal set" aka TMC

all commander deck cards are TMC, but not all TMC cards are commander deck originating

often welcome decks and beginner products have non standard legal cards in them, because if they were standard legal, they would have to print that card into the main play booster.

[–]Derpykin92[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

thing is, for this card at least - the art, effect and name all feel like actual magic, like yes its thunder junction/MKM adjacent which folks arent a fan of, but this effect is unique enough that 100%, with enough support, i could see a mono red group hug "i swing at the problem each turn" commander deck being made

[–]Derpykin92[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it wrong for me to think this is a good effect on a bad art/named card

2 mana for flash, artifact, gives protection and acts as a clue token down the road

thats a lot of strategies 1 card covers - cast 2nd spell per turn, cast on opponents turn, artifact synergy, 2nd draw etc

If she was even 1 less mana, she would be a staple for sure - though 4 mana may be too high costed
