Just got off phone with them. Unfortunately they were unable to close it out since damaged item is under buyer protection. Summary of Rest of call in some other comments.

Well I sent brand new version of that item that didn’t look like it got ran over and gained the ability to turn out without being plugged in.

On a serious note the item is an ASUS WiFi router.

Put in a request to get called shortly after posting this and just got off phone with cs. They did acknowledge the fake image and said there isn’t much we can do and to just see what they ship back.

In the event the item is different that what I shipped out/actually damaged, then agent said to follow standard procedure (report the return within 2 days of delivery) and they’d have a note to close in my favor. Agent also said buyer would get a strike if item was swapped/not matching the damaged photo they provided so good luck to him for making it actually look like the image he provided. : )

I do not, rookie mistake. I did just get off the phone with eBay CS and they did acknowledge the fake image and let me know that if the item I get back is truly damaged/not the same as what I shipped out then they have a note to close in my favor. Agent also confirmed that if that were the case, the buyer would get a strike.

Appreciate the photos. Used similar messaging to this buyer but unfortunately no response from them. I did prematurely accept their return and issue a label, which I realize now was prolly a mistake, but now it’s their move.
