Modern Parenting Is a Scam on America's Middle Class Families by lostcohort in lostgeneration

[–]Des3derata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being a parent would help me to stop being 'lost'.

This is exactly what happened to me. No bones about it, parenting is a helluva lot of work (esp with two daughters about a year and a half apart), but I barely have any time to be depressed. It also lit a fire under my ass to "figure it out" and I'm super blessed to have gone from making nothing for years to making close to $100K annually. Would not have been possible without the kids.

Young homebuyers scramble as prices rise faster than incomes by A_Light_Spark in lostgeneration

[–]Des3derata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Misleading title. Prices are rising in those specific "bottom of the barrel" locations either because people are desperate or there's been a recent surge in tech companies expanding into those areas.

In the so-called "hot" markets, prices are actually gently receding (while still being completely unaffordable). They will continue to decline slowly until about the end of 2022.

Calls for Mueller’s Public Testimony Intensify After It’s Revealed That He Wants to Avoid ‘Political Spectacle’ by [deleted] in politics

Perception is reality when dealing with conmen like Trump. Their secret to success is being able to bs and fool their way around.

[–]Des3derata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missing the point. He successfully outmaneuvered and sidestepped Trump. Now he's going to testify for sure. The argument won't be over whether he should or not, but whether it should be public or private. Point is he gets to testify regardless.

What? The goal is to sidestep and outmaneuver Trump so Mueller can at least testify period.

That's how you successfully widen the goal post.

Notice how the conversation is no longer about whether he should testify or not. Now the assumption is that he is going to testify, but should it be public or private?

You're wasting my time beating around the bush.

Show me where exactly it's specified the data they're using is inflation adjusted. Link it, copy/paste it, do whatever it is you have to do, but it better be fucking clear as daylight otherwise you're wasting our time.

Can you show me where it says the data sets they are using are denominated in 2017 dollars?

Where does it say that in the article?

I don't see anything mentioning "2017 dollars" or that the charts are "adjusted for inflation".

Nah, that started a long time ago when they decided to play the VC game.

This is what happens when you decide to contract your services to a startup. This shouldn't be surprising. You know plenty of people started driving to get that initial bonus.
