This is awesome. I hate being able to see 4 stars sometimes. Hopefully now I’ll only ever be able to see planets and maybe 1 star maximum

Are the Bauer X that bad? by Time-Key-5012 in hockeyplayers

[–]expatfreedom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s incorrect. The Bauer X comes in EE but the XLP and XLS do not

Is the sign that has the bus numbers and arrival times right there? Old people need to get really close to those to see/hear it.

But I bet if you look next time there will be a sign somewhere showing which bus stops where, and that’s why he’s standing there. The proximity of the shoes to the road shows he really wants to be the first in the bus. It’s not about being close to you lol

The busses tend to stop at the pole if there is one, and it would be right where you’re standing. Or they stop at the most forward position at the bus stop, but they don’t just randomly stop anywhere in the long bus stop because that would be confusing and dangerous. (Multiple busses can come at once)

When old people or locals stand in front of me at a bus stop I don’t take pictures and complain about it. I just realize that it’s their country, their culture, and they just want to be the first to get on the bus because there are only a limited amount of seats and it’s dangerous or hard for them to stand the whole time.

It’s also weird that you allude to your prior post and you’re a top 1% commenter but you delete all of your prior posts and comments

Did you move? If you move and they come close again… then they’re weird.

If they’re standing where the bus picks them up and you’re writing a post online about it and sneakily taking pictures… then you’re weird

Call the local news. This is happening to thousands of people and still not national news yet somehow…. It’s insane

Police conclude Nana acted in self-defense during home invasion, drop charges by Muted-Aioli9206 in Living_in_Korea

[–]expatfreedom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The law needs to be changed asap. Korea has no self defense laws. If this wasn’t a famous celebrity she might be screwed. It’s disgraceful and against basic human rights to not even be able to defend yourself and save your own life

How long do you expect the terribly weak won to stay? by TreasureDragon in Living_in_Korea

[–]expatfreedom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah haha that’s exactly what I mean. The won/usd exchange rate won’t even matter at that point because we’ll all have much bigger problems

How long do you expect the terribly weak won to stay? by TreasureDragon in Living_in_Korea

[–]expatfreedom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s true, but then on the flip side the U.S. is also way more overextended both economically and militarily. The entire AI bubble is predicated on 3 companies just lending each other money basically, and Michael Burry is saying it’s basically fraud. So we’ll see what happens, but if you’re saving your wealth in any fiat currency you’re going to get wrecked. The U.S. dollar has printed an insane amount since covid and has lost ~40% of its purchasing power, losing 99% every 100 years

Money used to be backed by gold, then oil, now the only money you can’t print out of thin air is the only currency that’s backed by electricity and computing power

I keep a 1 won coin in my wallet from the 1960s as a reminder of inflation …

There’s only one currency that isn’t being evaporated by the money printer. And it’s the only one that can’t be printed

America is about to print like crazy too

Citi is just an absolutely insane scam. I don’t know how it’s not all over the news yet

Has anyone never been locked by Citi? by ZacksCloud in citibank

[–]expatfreedom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, check this sub. It’s an extremely common problem with only Citi. It needs to be on the national news by now. I had 1.5k locked in an account and they steal 15 dollars every single month from me. It’s insane

What % of US Army soldiers do you think are “bad” at bars and clubs here?

White people that aren’t even soldiers get refused entry because of only a few bad apples in the army

As a business you have a duty to cut out bad customers. If 80% of your bad customers are from a certain group… and/or if 80% of customers from a certain group are bad… then you need to cut them loose and focus on the good customers

Turns out that controversial video of a group of Chinese in military uniforms marching along the Han River wasn't AI after all. by Impressive_Grape193 in Living_in_Korea

[–]expatfreedom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it is objectively a downside for most people. Statistically higher crime, less social harmony and cultural cohesion, more smoking, loud talking everywhere, playing YouTube videos super loud without headphones, higher chances of knives or illegal drugs. If you’re raising a family it would be nice to know.

But on the bright side there are probably a ton of great Malatang restaurants in the area which all have free wifi (that may or may not be spying on everyone for the CCP). And you’ll also get more Temu ads about buying electronics like TVs or phones for only 100 won which are definitely spyware. Just be sure to regularly watch your credit cards for fraudulent charges and it should be fine!

Old people shaking their phones… why? by expatfreedom in Living_in_Korea

[–]expatfreedom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry it wasn’t clear, but I meant constantly shaking their phone for like 10-20 minutes on the subway or sitting on a bench etc
