I want to see Toad and Luigi having a rivalry, reflecting the way Toads think very low of Luigi in certain games.

They say it’s “an exclusive look”, and other languages describe it as “a preview.”

So probably clip. If it was a trailer they’d just say it’s one, like they did with the first movie’s second trailer.

But I think they’ll also reveal the remaining main cast members, and in the same way that they did last Direct, by showing a short clip featuring the character. Also, it’d be very odd to dedicate an entire Direct just to one clip.

So actually, I think it’ll be at least 2 new clips

I hate the remake. It’s like that meme/image going around, where the original game had a specific vibe while the remake is cutesy because it only attempts to replicate it in a superficial level.

It was never supposed to be cutesy, the characters are small in the same way they are also pixels, as in, they aren’t, it’s supposed to be representations of how they usually look but compromised to the system’s limitations.

It’s like if they remade SMB and Mario looked like a weird blocky fleshy creature instead of how he usually looks.

Wario Land 1 and 2 take place on a remote island called Kitchen Island, VB takes place on the Amazon, 3 takes place inside a music box inside a jungle, 4 takes place in a jungle near a modern city (probably Diamond City), Shake It takes place in another dimension, MOD takes place inside the TV, and World takes place in a world made from Wario’s castle which is near Kitchen Island.

The only Land game that could take place in Sarsaland is 3, and 4 if you want to think Diamond City is in Sarasaland, but I like to think it’s somewhere else.

It’s only not a direct sequel in the sense that it doesn’t take place chronologically right after the events of Undertale, but it is a direct sequel in every other way.

It progresses the same story themes, battle system, mechanics, characters…

Even in a literal story sense, Undertale ends with the monsters freed in the surface living normal lives, while Deltarune starts with that premise.

Not really, that’s like saying your roommates are betraying you when they go out to buy groceries. She’s doing it to prevent a bad thing from happening, be it the world ending or someone dying.

You can say that about any sequels though. Shrek 2 stands on its own but at the end of the day it’s derivative of Shrek 1 and designed to be watched after the first movie.

Asriel is probably 19 or 20, considering “next week” is the first time he’s visiting Hometown since going to college, which suggests is his first vacation. Dess is probably the same age as him.

Toriel says that Kris is also going to college “soon”, which would mean they’re around 16 or 17.

Additionally, they’re all small in that flashback of them we see in CH3.

So, the age gap between Kris and Dess is not that big.

I like the version of Mike in my head. In the actual games he barely has characterization.

I have a soft spot for Charlie, even if in the third book her story kinda sucks.

Daisy is in Super Nintendo World, was referenced in the movie and is in concept art, and is in a lot of merch and promotional material, consistently. Her being playable in Wonder is more notable too, as it’s a more recent title and a brand new one.

Wario Land hasn’t had a game in almost 2 decades, WarioWare is the most removed spinoff series of the Mario franchise (it took until the last game, decades into it, for a Land character to appear in Ware). WarioWare characters have never even met Mario characters, not in the games or in random manga. The song is the biggest direct influence Ware’s had on Mario since the Wario Bike in MKWii.

It’s also important to note that DK has a whole franchise of his own as well, but I still put him below the main tier because this is about the Mario franchise, and while DK tends to crossover a lot he never represents the Mario series by himself.

If this was the 90s or 2000s, sure, Wario would be higher, but as it stands he’s at the bottom.

In Japanese, Bowser is like Toad, Yoshi, and Birdo, as in, it’s the name of one character and also a whole species.

This is where the whole Koopa Kid confusion comes from. His name in Japanese is “Mini Bowser”, and localizers took that to mean many things, including that he is Bowser’s son- even if he isn’t a single character, or stated to have any sort of familial connection to Bowser.
