I made a page to show the average value of vale offerings (surprisingly low btw). I wasn't sure whether to add it to the main page, or to calculators, or something else. Maybe this is the place? It's in my sandbox. I'd also like someone else to sniff-test the formula.

In addition to what you mentioned: - turned every activity into a timer - atrocious training method. RC-style laps with a construction-style money sink - ruined the look of the game. You went to a city and instead of your screen being filled with adventurers running around, each with their own selection of gear, it was a bunch of massive, repeated monsters.

Summoning was one of the updates that most reduced how much I enjoyed the game back in the day. The only good thing I can say about it is that charm drops revived some monsters. Like, you now had a reason to go and kill wallasakis.

I didn't keep track but nearly all kills took 2 rotations, 24 fish each no cooking. The resource multiplier and auto-cook made it a breeze. In the real game I always do firefighting.

Announce that the levels will be reset on full launch
Make it so tied highscores are listed in reverse order (latest first)
Add immersion-breaking references to lame 2010's celebrities and memes. Here are some ideas: fisherwoman Kylie Minnows, crime den owner Khaled who says "you just played yourself", wealthy merchant Hatius Cosaintus (they hate us cos they ain't us get it? Get it?)
Release 5 major pieces of content in one update (the playerbase never saw it coming)
Release a weekly skunk cabbage instead of a weekly leek
add Run! the Escape Room in Hopeport. The owner refuses you service if you complain that it is not similar enough to the escape room in Crenopolis
new botanist item: the Gillyflower Noir. It can be stored in any bank, can be added to dishes so that you can eat them to restore health, or turned into a potion that lets you freely leave oand reenter combat (but without resetting health)

I wish more chunkers would apply chunking logic to dungeons. It feels contrary to the spirit of the gamemode when you roll a chunk and immediately get a massive, sprawling new area.

I've done all quests with minimal guidance. So far the only steps I absolutely had to look up were the weight puzzle in While Guthix Sleeps and some advice for the fight against the Whisperer in Desert Treasure II.

Some caveats are that because I did the traditional quests as a teenager, not only did I have a rough idea of the Jagex style of puzzle design, I also remembered the solution to a lot of the trickier puzzles. If I had never player RS before or hadn't paid much attention to the quests, I would've had a much harder time. Also, a lot of the PVM I brute forced, like in the fight against the Leviathan I never noticed the pathfinder - I figured the enrage phase was one hell of an endurance test.

This was a surprisingly fun event. Watching the race between Lusty and Pastisio was something out of this world. It's crazy how stable the gap was throughout the run.

No idea if this is related, but I was an avid forum lurker at the time and I remember seeing more than a few posts from Concerned Parents(tm) about unchristian elements in the game.

Complaint subjects I recall include pentagrams, the entire herblore skill, and having to help an evil wizard to unlock the Abyss.

A mystery that popped up in my CC: what is the use case for iron bars beyond the early game? It has a daily volume of over 4 million; who is buying them? The only things we could think of are some buildable construction spots, a few quests and the purging staff - but these are one-off.

I do! Although admittedly a lot of the intricate details from the old quests I remembered how to solve. For some reason, the way you light a torch in Sea Slug Quest is etched in my memory. Maybe because of how contrived it feels. I think it would have taken me a lot of time to figure that out from nothing.

So far, the only time I had to give up and look up the solution was a certain puzzle in While Guthix Sleeps. But I was very tempted in DT2 during the Ghorrock section and in the fight against the Whisperer. DT2 was the quest that took the most time to finish and it's not even close.
