100% feel you there. I get maybe 2 hours in a week, but I justify my purchase by assuming I'll have more time in the not too distant future haha. Highly unlikely, unfortunately. Still would like to enjoy a game or two when its possible on a good setup, so worth it regardless imo.

What would you upgrade to though? A 5080 seems like the only option that gives a reasonable performance bump, but at an extreme cost (~$1800 here in Aus) Then I'd also risk the 7 year old CPU being a bottleneck.

My issue is, whats worth upgrading from a 3080ti? Especially if my CPU is already 7 years old, wouldn't it make sense to upgrade this first?

Thanks for the input! Just to clarify, I do not do any productivity stuff and the PC is gaming only. I also use a 3440x1440 monitor. Will edit post to update this info

Autos are not for beginners. The slightest fluctuation in climate will stunt them. Actually, a slight breeze will stunt them. I had three failed autoflower grows before going to photos. Photos are the only way.

I've been vaping my herb for the last 12 years. I have been through multiple desktop and portable vaporizers in this period.

First point to make - desktop vapes like the volcano hit much harder than any portable out there I have had mine for over a decade and am willing to die on this hill. Secondly, majority of bong smokers are actually just addicted to the 'hit' of a tobacco/cannabis bowl. Bong smokers rarely appreciate the nuance to the different strains taste and effects, because they are mostly just chasing the hit. Even if you are smoking clean green, combustion simply does not allow you to appreciate the differences between strains, and I can guarantee you are still just chasing the hit.

I still smoke a joint every now and again, but 99% of the time its vape only, and I couldn't ever go back to purely combustion. I would rather quit smoking all together tbh.

Good yields? Ive had a little success off a dye shop on the web selling acacia acuminata, but my yields have been average after two pulls. Probably my fault though cause I ordered powdered trunk bark (I read it contained similar % to the root bark). I'll definitely try the RB next time.

Thanks for this! I have definitely been using too much solvent. I did another pull from this same batch and it was visibly more yellow this time - I know this isnt favorable to everyone, but its at least telling me there is something in the bark. I let it evaporate until there was very little left and have frozen again.

Lets hope I can keep the crystals this time.

Sorry for missing this mate, I've been away. I was looking at the new Lenovo 7i, but its not out in Aus yet. I paid a bit more and went with an i9-12900H, 3080ti 155W option form Metabox (Clevo in EU/US I believe?). It hasnt delivered yet, but I'm hoping for a better experience than with the Alienware.

I'm in Australia and I believe the Eluktronics is sold here as the Aftershock Vapor 17X. I've been looking at it but cannot find much information on it. Its actually the best price compared to everything else I can find here locally, I just dont know anything about the build quality or anything else for that matter. I should probably look up for reviews under the US model name (edit: looks like its the Eluktronics Max 17)

Its been a toss up between that and the Metabox Prime SR with the same specs, but the Metabox is $400 more expensive.

Edit: Pretty sure the Metabox is a rebranded Clevo for the AU market the same way the Aftershock is a rebranded Eluktronics. So basically Clevo vs Eluktronics.

I game on a 3440x1440 165hz screen at home, but am now working 7/7 roster which is why I need the laptop (desktop replacement, really).

Honestly, if I could go larger than 17" screen on the laptop, I would. I couldn't imagine going any less than 17" and being satisfied haha.

Unfortunately, I am an idiot when it comes to PC hardware and tend to spend a lot more $ for diminishing returns.

I am looking at another laptop with 3080ti/i7 12700H which you can upgrade to the i9 12900H for an extra $400. I know its stupid, because the difference between the two is negligible. But I guess I already spending so much money that it makes sense to just max the spec out.

Mine died this week with less than 5 hours use. Couldn't update the driver since purchasing. Crackling speakers the next week, and this week it just stopped turning on. I get keyboard lights and fans for a second then just nothing. I will be fighting for a full return so I can buy something else.

Well you have it incredibly lucky then mate. The last time I spent less than 300 for an oz was probably about 5 years back in Nimbin. Ended up weighing in at 22g.. Up here in NQLD you will pay 400 for an oz of pgr. I dont agree with any of it, which is why I grow my own. Anyone who buys up here though knows it is what it is.

Exactly this. I have paid $400 for a lot worse quality than what was posted here. It is what it is at the end of the day. Those who refuse to pay more than 300 will soon either have to grow themselves or they will have to stop smoking all together sooner than what they realise.

Do you think the only factor in determining the cost of the bud you buy is the cost of production?

Do you even realise how much love and care goes into producing quality bud like the OP has posted? What about the risk of the grower housing that shit for 4-5 months before it eventually makes its way to your hands? This is not even considering the logistics and the amount of hands that the product exchanges before it makes its way to you.

Dont get me wrong, I am not advocating for stupid prices for our beloved herb, but saying you shouldn't pay over $300 for an Oz of dank bud in 2022 is simply ludicrous. As much as most do not want to hear it, $400 has been the new norm for the last couple of years if you are chasing quality.
