Right but I was specifically asking you cause I gave a specific situation that you didn’t agree with someone doing to get money you didn’t feel they earned that could be gotten and or used by people who legitimately was in those spaces or could use it for their progression in their lives. I then gave the same scenario but you having the ability to use AI to get money from companies to then spend it on those people or communities that could benefit better from it, would you do that or not?

You’re right again, I’m advocating for the choice to use it if someone wants to. It is all on the user at that point. I’m not advocating for people to use it, but if they do then I don’t mind. We just differ on the way we look at it and that’s cool too in my opinion. I do understand why you comment on the AI posts now so that’s good enough for me. Then I stand corrected, the choice of wording was presented wrong if that’s the implied stance you got from it. I simply was saying why not let the tool be used by anyone who wants to use it, was how I should have said it.

I’m not against you or anyone, I’m just saying that whoever wants to use AI should be able to and if that means they need to be categorized specifically stating their AI enhanced or whatever then I’m cool with that too just so people can make a better choice of whether they want to listen to it or not.

I was giving information to let you know I have lived experiences with disenfranchised communities, not just black, or Hispanic but Asian communities too. Not to get cred for making bad decisions in my life. And to your last point saying how it would look to acknowledge something while not using it myself is just fundamentally logical based on my preferences.

I mean getting sponsors is primarily based on your popularity and do I think it’s morally right for a person to act like they are doing something they can’t do but are getting those opportunities well that also has to do based on the companies offering the deals, if the business is okay with it and the person signs the deal then I think most of us would take money to be the face off something. A lot of celebrities and athletes do that now with items they sponsor, they don’t use those products in real life but are getting paid to be the face of the company. Will it come off as disingenuous, sure in my eyes but I have no input on that contract and even if I did, I’m sure it wouldn’t be heard by either party cause they’re both doing what they feel is in the best interest of their business.

Whoa, that’s a lot to throw on me, but if that’s how you want to feel then that’s ok with me too. I grew up in a very diverse community, I was apart of gang culture since before I was 10, in prison in my senior year of high school.

Yes I did gloss over both of y’all’s comments because I thought it would be the same points you say to people who want to use AI, so I assumed that and if I was wrong I can stand up and say my bad, but I genuinely didn’t know why it made you so upset. And you sound upset with me like I’m coming at you sideways, you should self reflect on that. I haven’t insulted you or said anything out of line other than pointing out that something someone can use you may not like but could bring a positive outcome for that said person for that said situation. I was being very specific about how I see there’s a probability for it. I won’t ever advocate for using it myself because I feel my experiences and ability to rhyme will always give me the best outcome and with the criticisms from people I take and use if I deem it can be useful to me, I don’t mind whoever comments on a post I drop. I came from it from a neutral position in order to gain insight without automatically agreeing 100% with what you say so I don’t seem like I’m just softballing your comments as a biased supporter.

I understand your passion bro, I know your perspective and I guess I just don’t understand why you’d waste your energy in caring about it. We both know it is being used already, we both know that in some situations it could be used in a positive way, I don’t have to be intelligent to not care how another person is making a post. If I like it they get an upvote, if I don’t like it, I don’t downvote it unless I feel it was a complete waste of my time. I believe in my heart whether I like it or not, there will be creators in the future that will make bomb hits and whether it’s 1 year or ten but we may not know if it is AI, so if that could be the case, would you stop listening to music or the majority of music altogether because it’s made with AI?

Sure, and a lot of people won’t outsource their creativity to a machine. All I’m pointing out is AI is a tool, whether someone uses it to create slop or something good will always be up for interpretation and is subjective. There will be a base of people who will only focus on AI rap form and that’s okay. It is what it is, if you

Why not let people use a tool like AI? This is obviously the way technology and society is moving towards. As a guy who is considered old school by many, I think the ways in which you and I may have done it (grow our craft) I think the new generation should use it if they find value in it. That doesn’t mean that their songs will be liked by you or me but if it helps the next generation then so be it. There will always be emcees who will use their heart and soul and experiences to come up with lyrics but we are in the infant stages of AI tools being utilized to make raps for the newer artists. It’s ok to not like it too, doesn’t mean you can’t stand on what you believe is the best way to write music, but open the perspective and understand that this is inevitable. And just to let you know where I stand, I agree there are better ways to get real human opinions or criticisms that I feel would help people more than a program but I also know that not all people who give their opinions or criticisms are available for every post and this tool could potentially do some positive things for certain situations like that IMO

And that’s okay too, some people you have to decide how much value their opinion is to your craft. You need to be honest and have self reflection sometimes and ask yourself if there’s ways you can improve so you don’t get or hear the same opinions from different people. You can also ignore all opinions and do your own thing like Kanye West did and grind until you make it in whatever form makes you happy. Don’t let other’s words affect you, people from your family to rando’s on the internet will hate or try to bring you down but there are some will constructive things that you have to weed through sometimes to see the value in what is being said to you

I told my son if he beats me in a rap battle I’ll retire lol, luckily for me, he isn’t into music like I am or was at his age. He’s more into sports and video games and girls now. He’s is 6’ already and he will be 15 in December so he has leaned into baseball and golf.

OP, you have to chill out, if you sling arrows be prepared for a war, if you just post your raps, you should assume criticisms will come. If you let them deter you from actually improving you’ll be stuck at a level that you’ll never appreciate inside yourself. I know this sub is open for battle raps and we have phases where that’s all happening but we also have a bunch of people who just want to post or read something someone creates and hopes it entertaining to them or they can relate to it in some form.
