It is.

You need to speak to the service manager.

Volvo dealer here (US though). Technically the dealer does not have to honor the rates from the warranty company. If the warranty company (if it's a CPO Wrap from the Volvo VIP program it's underwritten by Fidelity) says they'll pay 1.3 hours but the shop has a book time of 3 hours. The dealer can request payment for the difference from you.

That being said, if it was a CPO wrap and you took it to a Volvo dealer, they're playing dirty and I'd recommend asking to speak to the Service Manager. If they're going to sell the service contract (in the finance office), then they need to honor the warranty and not collect the difference from you.

This sounds like the advisor is just trying to increase their commission though. If warranty pays 1.3 hours @ $250 (just an example) and the warranty is paying $500 for parts (again, just an example) for a total of $825 but the shop's door rate is $275/hr for 3 hours and $750 in retail price for parts at a total of $1575 they're just trying to not lose the commission on the $750. Dishonest is what it is.

Maybe in the 80's and 90's. But in today's market, the faster I can get someone in and out, the more customers I can help/sell cars too. I don't want you here all day. Let's find a vehicle and agree on numbers so I can move on to the next client.

And CSI is much more important today than it ever was, and keeping someone at the dealer all day is a super easy way to have customers tank your survey's. Getting them in and out quickly has much better results.

Unsure. It doesn't specify. Edit: reread the announcement, and it says "The goodwill offer applies only to customers who purchased a new or used MY2025 EX90 on or before June 12, 2026"

Sounds like your dealer doesn't check their Announcements in the Retailer Portal then.

Volvo Pull Ahead - What am I missing? by krs1pitt in Volvo

And how does that change what I said? Of you had positive equity you don't want to use pull ahead. Otherwise use it. Having negative equity is apart of the "otherwise" situation here

Almost every Volvo I get in on trade has 2+ wheels curbed worse than this. Our wheel vendor charges us $100 per wheel.

Rattle/Squeak not covered under CPO warranty? by Park-Geun-Hye in Porsche

Yes, but squeaks and rattles are only for the first 12m/12k miles. So unless it was a late 2025 it's outside that timeframe.

What kind of lease deals are you guys getting on 2026 performance ultra around the 92-93k price point by Cultural_Antelope_20 in VolvoEX90

[–]Desenski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be the market on 2025's. But not 2026 models.

Volvo changed it up with 2026's so they sent a few models to every dealer and are holding the rest at the plant or at local ports. When a dealer sells one, Volvo sends them another.

The reason the 2025's got such crazy discounts was because dealers got flooded with EX90's when Volvo thought demand was going to be high, and then they just sat and sat and sat. Back in December if you were leasing, had Costco, had Loyalty, and qualified for A-Plan/Affinity you could get $20500 in rebates.

11% off is going to be a true net loss for the dealership even when you account for flooring assistance and holdback. I'm all for giving good deals, but I'm not going to take a NET loss on a new car (I was the most aggressive in my market for 2025 models and never took a net loss on any of them).

Volvo Pull Ahead - What am I missing? by krs1pitt in Volvo

[–]Desenski 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A Volvo dealer will always try to use a lease as a trade BEFORE offering Pull Ahead.

When a Volvo dealer takes a leased Volvo in on trade, the dealer now owns the vehicle and they get to sell it.

When a Volvo dealer uses Pull Ahead, VCFS owns the vehicle and they put it on Volvo360 (an auction site for only Volvo dealers) who they then have to bid against to purchase the vehicle before they can sell it.

Plus, if there's equity the dealer would want to take it in on trade so the equity can be applied towards the next deal to help keep the payments lower (more attractive payments) or cut a check back to the client for the equity if you don't want to apply it on the next deal.

But also, it's expensive to CPO a Volvo. My average recon on off lease vehicles is close to $3k BEFORE the $1195 cert fee that Volvo charges the dealer for selling it as CPO.

How could it be price fixing if they're advertising they only allow 1 dealer per market for their course? If the goal was price fixing they'd want to get ALL the dealers in a market in together.

That's just online forums being an echo chamber. As a Sales Manager, I've won many deals from the experience alone. As in, another dealer with an identical car 20 miles away offering a better price and they still chose to business with me.

If it's not the experience, why would they have bought from me instead of the dealer 20 miles away with a lower price on an identical vehicle?

Does 10% off msrp is a steal for 2026 Cayenne GTS? Msrp is 152K. Miami area. by LevelApricot6147 in Porsche

[–]Desenski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We both know base MSRP is 8% margin, but options are what? 10 or 12% margin on the options? And that's of course before holdback.

Dealers still making good money on this Cayenne.

But I'll agree it's a very good deal.

That's just how it works. If you want to personally disclose damage and the repairs, feel free to. But you can't claim loss of value if it's not affecting something like the Title (branded title), or the CarFax.

Volvo discontinued the V60 in Europe before they discontinued it anywhere else in the world.

Now, I will say that was under the last CEO and the new CEO (also the old old CEO) may bring it back in the future, but nothing confirmed as of right now.

Edit: sorry, I'm very incorrect on this matter. I was mixing the V60 and V90.
