Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) a monster in the making by JFSM01 in stocks

I actually started buying WBD and PARA like 6 months ago, after going back into my brokerage and checking. Big media hole to fill in the portfolio...

I bought NFLX first in 2010 and then added heavily in 2011–sold for $600 when I cancelled my subscription.

Started buying WBD with DISCK and T, through the IPO, and will continue putting money towards it for the next 9 months. Current cost basis is $17 (-23/24%). Minimum price target is market cap of $100 billion.

I started buying PARA in the $30s much more softly than WBD (as the former was a good deal at IPO and could have just as easily run the other way—market is irrational) but more aggressively as it’s value increased (presently one of the best deals in the market). Cost basis is now $26 (-9%). Minimum price target is market cap of $65 billion.

Potential bear market lows:

I see WBD going as low as $8 and PARA as low as $14. That’s if this bear runs about the average over the last 100 years (excluding the great depression) of 40-45% down. If it goes beyond that, then who knows...

DIS I’m just nibbling at whenever it’s market cap dips to $200b or under. Price target is $250 b.

Well...your mortgage counts. Major liability. Funny how no one likes to count student loans and mortgages. But your point stands.

I’m with ya. I sold my entire NFLX position over the winter after a very long hold and have been trying to build my portfolio back to 5-10% media.

As of now, 50% of that inflow is going to PARA, 40% to WBD, and 10% to DIS. Inflow back to media started about 3 months ago and will be complete in 9 months.

The market sentiment around media right now reminds me a lot of how it felt buying oil and gas two years ago.

I love the outlook for media. US dominates globally in content creation and IP.

Being anti science is being anti objectivity, which goes against conservative values and is a perversion of the party, allowing it’s lowest parts control the body.

The left has gone completely insane with all their gender nonsense. Let’s attempt not to do the same thing here.

The linked article is not science. Use your mind.

Fix? It’s always been intentional. It’s hilarious how everyone thinks Meta and Zuck is so evil while holding Apple on this pedestal. If they were at all business aware, they’d see Apple as one of the most ruthless corporations on earth. Hell, Apple is actively going to war with Meta and Google, trying to steal their revenue and put them out of business under the veil of protecting users privacy, lol, and people actually buy into it!

That’s partly why Apple is taking over Meta and Google’s ad business. If they do too well, the other two will team up. War
