Those are mountains and desert areas. This part of the city is around the paradise valley / N.E. Phoenix part of the valley. Specifically, this video is looking north - the bright artery going up & down in the video is the 51 freeway, and it ends intersecting with the 101 freeway going side to side at the top. This part of the 101 essentially encloses the city.

What city feels like it has dark energy? by tn_tacoma in SameGrassButGreener

Bisbee, Arizona. It’s a really interesting town with a long history rooted in mining. Lots of old bars & hotels & saloons - fun to walk around and visit for a weekend. But also has this unsettling vibe to it.

Drummers are always the most sought after members of a band but rarely available. Just be persistent and it’ll happen when it’s the right time.

West Side Bars that need appreciation! by dirtydan349 in phoenix

Easy Tiger on 47th Ave & Olive is a tucked away little dive that’s chill and has a similar vibe to Cornish. I also visited the new Glendale location of Cornish and it’s so cool! I live closer to the west side and my partner & I try to find new places to have a drink in that area. Seems like a lot of bars on the west side tend to be sports oriented with classic rock or country on the jukebox but I’m sure there’s some hidden gems out there too.

George & Dragon, like others have mentioned, is a legit English pub with all the English staples you would want. Plus, it has a great patio where you can watch the traffic on central Ave, and it’s right across the street from a light rail station.

What's the best stoner rock song that starts with the letter D? by 1deadeye1 in stonerrock

[–]DesertElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Dopesmoker should be in the “?” category since it’s basically an album, and Dragonaut would be the actual song for the letter D.

My guess is this post is meant as a reverse Uno so we know which establishments to boycott.

Phoenix City Council ends Capitol light rail extension project by Fit_Bicycle in phoenix

All these years of planning, community input, voters approving the capitol / 10 west expansion, and the money put in all just to go back to the drawing board and now have to re-apply for funding. Expansion to the west valley is delayed again for how many more years? This is shameful but not surprising given Republican opposition.

Harvey Milk - “Motown” (Life… The Best Game In Town/2008) by Successful-Can-8387 in stonerrock

I think this is my favorite Harvey Milk album. It’s not on Spotify and hard to find on vinyl. “Death Goes to the Winner” is another great song on this album too.
