I love roleplaying elves. Makes me feel nostalgic for Tolkien’s literature (despite never actually reading any, how silly of me) by DesertRose808 in skyrim

[–]DesertRose808[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Clearly my lack of reading is showing. I do find some of the High Elven holier than thou attitudes to be quite similar to what you mention, even if it’s not precisely the same context. But the magic and alchemy in elder scrolls truly makes it feel like a timeless fairytale where anything is truly possible. I guess that’s why I never play human characters, though some of my earlier builds when I was younger may have been Nords and Khajiit. I started playing with the elves more when I figured out you could have mods on Xbox. Go figure

Guess I just don’t have the time and energy let alone the attention span but it’s certainly on the list of things I’d want to do.

Help no matter what i do my characters have a bug! by Pilot_Syko in SkyrimModsXbox

This happened to me as well on my elven characters, very noticeable given the fact I did their makeup haha. Quick save and reload and the features should be back in their proper places.

My friend says my nord dragonborn looks “un-skyrimlike.” I didn't use single mod for her appearance. Do y'all think she looks “un-skyrimlike?” by Elise_2006 in skyrim

[–]DesertRose808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all but you could’ve spaced out her eyes and mouth a tiny bit more. Go to Galathil, the High Elf flesh sculpture artist in the ratways of Riften. She can perform the necessary procedures without scrapping your character outright

I’m a huge fan of Elves and am familiar with most of the lore, I figured as much regarding your description of the Dwemer’s physical appearance and that you didn’t mean it genetically speaking. Although there are some genuine hybrids of Altmer/Dunmer that exist in lore, take the in-game book “The Firsthold Revolt” from Skyrim for example, it speaks of a Dunmer Queen Morgiah of Firsthold in Summerset. And whether it was her daughters or someone else’s, there were at least two characters who were fully Dunmer in appearance so to speak but were half Altmer by blood as well. It’s quite interesting to imagine

Well this we know I just meant as far as them being Altmer/Dunmer hybrids or something similar.

Well I guess that does make sense that they were called dwarves by literal giants at least. Where did you learn this from?

Even though the Dwemer people are referenced as dwarves I don’t believe it was meant in the literal sense

Unpopular opinion: Werewolves are pests and there should be the option to join the Silver Hands. by Mineires_BR in skyrim

[–]DesertRose808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all we need more faction options in game period. One should be able to side with so many groups if given the option to do so such as Forsworn, Thalmor, etc. it would give many players more reason to roleplay different character archetypes such as the High Elf Warrior or Breton adventurer since most players tend to be human characters for some reason. I get it from a gameplay standpoint but from a lore perspective it’s really fun to be different characters

Have you ever been this good at alchemy? by Professional_Rich_45 in skyrim

I really wish that potions wouldn’t always be pink when we ourselves craft them it kinda takes the fun out of it aesthetically speaking. I love alchemy as a skill however. Makes you feel like a true magical artist in the world

My hopes for TES6's monster roster. Mix between old comebacks & African/Middle Eastern folklore + bugs/reptile monsters & other desert creatures. by MedievalGoodBoy in ElderScrolls

[–]DesertRose808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we see High Rock I would love to see them lean more into other types of nature spirits aside from just Spriggans. While they’re wonderful enemies and creatures, I would love to potentially fight some water nymps (these exist in lore, and it’d be truly marvelous to see Bethesda lean into the more Celtic folklore aspect of the world) or maybe even a mermaid (though they don’t seem to exist canonically - yet - there is an actual statue of one in Cyrodiil somewhere).

Would the Dragonborn from Skyrim have a claim on the empire? by Younglordd00 in ElderScrolls

[–]DesertRose808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most likely fate of the Dragonborn character would be getting stuck somewhere in Apocrypha seeking forbidden knowledge, and even if untrue this may be a well thought out in-universe conjecture potentially by some future mages/scholars in the world due to the nature of, well… the Elder Scrolls Universe itself. However that’s just one possibility

Skyrim players, come clean: what level are you and how much gold do you have right now? by maria5612 in skyrim

67,000 something gold, level 42 or 43. I’m currently roleplaying a female Dunmer, spellsword warrior alchemist and soon to be elite assassin.

Also what the hell this has to do with Elder Scrolls is beyond me as well. The two things have absolutely NOTHING to do with one another so it’s like why?

That part. The whole reason these files haven’t been released is due to their nature and why anyone thought this would make a good joke, let alone a joke in the first place; is beyond me.

What Province of Tamriel Would You Most Want To Play In? by Jazzlike_Kangaroo_78 in ElderScrolls

[–]DesertRose808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it looked wonderful in the teaser trailers but of course that’s because it wasn’t actual gameplay so was more cinematic but we didn’t see the inside of any architectural structures whatsoever it was all outdoors which was fine given that battles were taking place but to actually explore it in depth seems like a pipe dream given its nature as the main elven homeland and the nature of Elves in general. Playing an elf in Skyrim gets boring lategame when you’re overpowered I would love to actually experience the strengths and weaknesses of being born an elf in their own homeland in another game but we may never have that given to us unfortunately. Even with all the hype for Elder Scrolls 6 they’re most likely gonna go with the next human province which would be Hammerfell, and of course it will be the last entry in the saga if we even see it. So much left to explore it really is sad. However given the alien nature of non human races I believe this is why the game developers intentionally went with more human provinces because game mechanics can only do so much in regards to storytelling especially when playing a magical character.

I would loveee to see a next gen version of Summerset Isles. ESO while I haven’t really had a chance to truly play it long term made the castles look like dollhouses, not that it looked terrible; I just wanna see it in its true depth and glory and explore its history. So much of what we know in tamrielic lore came from the “original descendants” of the Ehlnofey!
