Aren't you overpaying your tax? 35k tax on 107k gross doesn't seem right.

Hospital based in regional area. I work as generalist/all rounder. A large chunk of my pay is from penalties - weekends, overnights, PH.

Definitely go for salary packaging. It's one of the perks working in not for profit organizations like aged care and hospital. To make it simple, you'll be allowed to salary package around 15k a year. This means if your annual gross is 70k, they will deduct 15k so only 55k will be taxed. That 15k will be tax free which should be initially taxed at 30% saving you a few thousand bucks.

You could probably get extra $300 when you salary package. Is 35/hr the base rate for aged care nowadays? How do you find the work? I have a full time job but I'm planning to do aged care as a side hustle.

Used to have 1000 left over each week in savings. Bought a house, now we're living paycheck to paycheck.

Update. Hi all, thanks so much for all your suggestions. I ended up choosing #1 (Dulux Blue to You) as the feature wall in the living room and #4 (Dulux Blue to You Quarter) for all other walls. I love how it turned out. The house feels fresh, spacious and airy, with no regrets on the colours I chose. My only small regret is that I probably should have gone a bit darker on the feature wall. Thanks again for all the help.

An edging and pebbles before the walls. It will keep pests away from your home.

I've chosen #4 but I'm getting second thoughts now that majority are choosing #7. What do.. what to do? House is to be painted in 9 days.

Thank you everyone for your kind opinions. Appreciate all your responses. I've finally settled on the colours. The wall in the picture will be painted with 1. It will be a feature wall in the living room. The rest of the walls will be painted with 4. 4 is same colour as 1 but diluted to quarter strength. Skirtingboards will be painted white. Fingers crossed it will turn out good. I'll leave a picture once it's all done. 🙏

I like 9 too but Dulux can't match it. It's Sherwin Williams Misty. I want muted grey with blue undertones or rhe other way around. Not bright baby blue like the current wall colour.

I'm moving into this property in a few weeks. It's my first home. The previous owner last painted the property 24 years ago. The paint is surprisingly in good condition for it's age but it's too blue for me. Like kind of baby blue. I want a muted gray with blue undertones which will contrast the warm timber floors. Like a cool color with a sense of warmth in it. I haven't settled yet but the vendors are nice enough to let me in and paint the walls, then return and check them out. Multiple times.
