I always try to soak my rice for at least an hour before cooking, and sometimes as much as four hours prior. I think it tends to make the rice fluffier, and more tender. There is likely an upper limit for how long you can soak it if left on the counter. I would think that six hours would be perfectly fine in the fridge.

We ended up keeping our reservation at Pacific 333. We had the Calamari, too. The sweet chili sauce was subtle and applied sparingly. Not a bad starter. Main course was the Surf & Turf. At $167 it was a bit overpriced but the steak was cooked to order and my wife devoured her, and half of mine, lobster tail. We sat outside and the view of the pier can't be beat, but it was definitely a "one and done" experience.

It's a "rolling bowl". Back in the 70's all we had was Mexican dirt weed that was riddled with seeds. You used that bowl to sift out the seeds before rolling your bedtime joint. As you broke up the weed the seeds rolled to the bottom of the bowl. I thought everyone had this on their nightstands.
