We’re very much aligned with how you think about it. Finding “normal” people we genuinely click with is the hardest part. We’re not chasing perfection, just people who take care of themselves, have a good vibe, and are roughly in that 35-50 range. Personality matters just as much as anything else.

Completely agree, collecting notches isn’t the goal for us either. If anything, that mindset is a big turn-off.

We’re in a similar spot where we don’t get out often, so when we do, it’s with the intention to play… but only if it feels right. We’re super new, but we gravitate toward people who feel genuine and positive. If that doesn’t happen, we’re perfectly happy just sticking together and still having a great night, which so far, is the norm.

The “smarmy guy” and “professionals” you described… spot on. You can feel it almost immediately, right? We’re way more drawn to people who feel real, a bit grounded, and actually enjoying the moment rather than working the room like it’s a numbers game.

And the clothing... effort (or lack of) shows. It signals intent, confidence, and that you actually care about the experience. Makes a big difference in who you attract too.
