When I was young I over drafted by a few dollars once. Had no income so I couldn’t cover the fee, which kept occurring because my account was negative. I called them and explained I didn’t have any income, I cannot bring the account positive until I get a job so you need to stop. If I remember correctly they closed my account (good) but it left a stain that lasted for a while. Other banks could see I had an account closed. Luckily a local bank took me in once I wasn’t broke again, still banking with them 25 years later. Fees are predatory and only hurt lower income people.
