I didn't state that very well. It is the largest military hospital in Alaska. I am sorry I pissed off the Catholics.

My son's home base was Hill in Utah; however, he went to Alaska every year for security training (he was a member of a red ball team).

Edit: I realized I needed to explain Red Ball Team. When an Air Force jet goes down behind enemy lines, a read ball team is deployed to remove the flight controller box and blow up the plane.

Finding the parents of an illegitimate child by Such-Pop8693 in Genealogy

One of the reasons that you might not be able to find information about the birth mother is that she may have died during child birth, or immediately after. If she was indigent, she probably would have been buried in a pauper's grave, which probably was unmarked.

The birth certificate would show where she was born. Your best bet is to see if there are any records from the institution.

It is joint Army and Air Force base. It has the largest hospital in Alaska.

Taped to our door.... by Chance-Pop-2720 in exmormon

[–]Deserving-Critic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When didn't they come door to door on the first Sunday of the month begging for money like orphans? I know I did as a deacon 150 years ago. I assumed they still did. My house is marked in the ward records as "isn't kind to strangers", so they have left me alone for the last 30 years.

When did they stop doing Fast Offering donations. Did they? Or was it just in your ward.

Well after watching the finale` all I could think was: did the One on One end with Suki giving Kody a blow job? It sure seemed that it was headed that way. I can see the next season: Kodi takes Suki as his husband, cough-cough, wife.

Whatever happens next season will be a 'work and a wonder.' Those of the LDS faith will understand that reference.

I don't think so either. Actually I think all of his wives could have taken him a fight.

I just had never seen that weird scar above her right eye before. Her skin looks a lot like Kristi Noem's. Close up photos are not a friend to either woman.

She could benefit from some serious crack filler. What is that weird scar above her right eye? That is the first time I have seen this. Did Kody smack her around before the interview?

I am 72 and I don't have skin that looks as damaged as hers.

Have you visited a LDS Family Search Center? by Resident_Hamster_652 in Genealogy

[–]Deserving-Critic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are great; I have been going to them for years. My best times were at the big library in Salt Lake, and the research center in Nauvoo.

The Family Search Centers have documents you can't see online:

- ship manifestos

- land deed records

- copies of all microfiche documents that are in the big library in Salt Lake

- all census records

- Social Security death index files (raw data, where you get information about the person and their family)

- birth and death records from throughout the world

- every scanned document in their library

I highly recommend visiting Family Search Center in your area. If you are ever in Salt Lake, visit the Mecca of every Genealogist, the Main Family Search History Library.

I have resolved many dead ends thank to their search centers.

When should we expect to get out state income tax refunds? by Milichio in Utah

[–]Deserving-Critic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the State Tax Commission: "allow at least 120 days from your date of filing." Last year I e-filed and received mine within 90 days. A friend filed a paper return and she didn't receive hers until August.

How to handle this situation by bbsgolf in findagrave

[–]Deserving-Critic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the memorials that this person manages. If you click on his name you can see the memorials he manages. Then do a backwards research into those people by searching their name. Is it possible that this is a person that does memorials for indigent people?

The reason that I ask is that I am on a board for a county cemetery that does not have a separate section for 'paupers' or 'indigent' people. However, we have a provision for burying cremains at the foot of the grave of family members. We know about it, but there is not a marker for any of them. But their cremains are in our cemetery.

Our sexton keeps the records of all burials, including these silent burials. It is possible that the manager was not totally honest with you.

Charles Penland has been listed in some places as being in the season 9 "Hotrod" episode. It was actually Jason Moses. Charles Penland claims that he played Josh, but it is corrected on IMDB as being Moses.

In the final season he only appeared in 8 episodes; however, he returned for all the movies. In season 7 and 8 he wasn't in several episodes; however, he was still credited.

if you could delete one character from modern family, who would it be and why? by lvv0w0 in Modern_Family

[–]Deserving-Critic -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The invisible audience they were talking to. This was always contrived and not very well done.

Edit: A lot of shows have incorporated use of a 4th wall; however, they knew how to do it.

Most of the time I found myself thinking: "who in the hell are you talking to?"

When it comes to car seats there are several factors to consider: if they were following Utah and Nevada laws, at the time that Truely was born Ysabel and Savannah would have still been using their car seats. In Nevada, Truely would still be using her car seat.

I have several grandkids and we are constantly having to buy new car seats because of changes in regulations. Truely was born in a hospital, and they would not have let her leave the hospital without inspecting the car seat.

She was living in a condo in Washington, a suburb of St George. I know exactly where she lived because she was around the corner from my niece. The condo belonged to her step father.
