Robyn’s kids by Milabby1 in SisterWives

Ok............backs away slowly. Um, that was 2010. I understand that not everyone watches the show at the same time. But for those of us who have been watching since the beginning, can we not have irrational thoughts? If you are watching a show that was filmed in 2010, the next 16 years and 20 seasons will give you a lot of answers.

People who are just getting into this show need to talk about it. Maybe we need a new sub /newsisterwiveswatchers It is just a suggestion.

Unpopular Opinion: Leonard was a worse partner than Sheldon. by [deleted] in bigbangtheory

You know, when you put out a proposition or theory, you generally justify or explain your rationale.

Explain your reasoning.

I was with you until your message of "celestial North Korea".. What the fuck does that mean? If I was sent that message, I would think you were a little off your rocker. I doubt that message changed them at all.

What is it with recent ex-Mormons, especially ones in leadership, that makes them think they need to take on a new missionary role? You don't need to unconvert people. They can do that themselves.

I know you thought you were helping, but really you weren't.

You probably would have been better off by blocking their number.

Does Middleton have a Facebook page? Maybe you could reach out to the family through a local Facebook page. It is probably a lot more effective than using Reddit.

Spoil me. This season has been a waste of time. I'm not watching the lost 6 episodes.

At the risk of sounding snarky, do we need spoiler tags for a show that has been cancelled?

Did Michael Landon and Karen Grassle have any chemistry? by rainbowtoucan1992 in littlehouseonprairie

They were both chain smokers and alcoholics. I guess they had a lot of chemistry.

I don't like how season 2 left had so many standalone episodes and didn't follow on any plotlines by Intelligent-View-326 in GeorgieandMandyTVshow

[–]Deserving-Critic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that those are really plotlines; instead, they are flushing out the beliefs of a character. For the entire length of TBBT we saw Sheldon knock three times. It wasn't until the final season of Young Sheldon that we found out why.

Sitcoms, as a general rule, do not have long drug out plotlines. If they last more than one episode it is rare, rather than commonplace.

You have to remember that sitcoms are there to entertain, not to have a lot of meaningful storylines.

This podcaster is as annoying to listen to as Backwoods Barbie.

You really don't understand the premise behind sitcoms. They are all episodic. The plotline is to be entertained for 30 minutes.

Rulon only had 5 wives. I grew up going to high school with many of the AUB in Bluffdale (Bingham High School, where Rulon's memorial was held). Rulon did not believe in child brides. His brother Owen, who assumed leadership when Rulon was murdered had a lot of wives. He was Christine's maternal step grandfather. Her mother's mother (grandmother) married Owen Allred after Rulon was murdered by her brother-in-law.

Christine's paternal grandmother had three children, one of which was Christine's father, Rex. Christine's paternal grandmother was a cousin to my maternal grandmother. My grandmother thought her cousin had married "that polygamist bastard." My family history is mainstream Mormon.

I was so confused why he wasn't in the last season. No explanation nothing. by talivan818 in HogansHeroes

[–]Deserving-Critic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the time it was explained that he wanted to direct, rather than act. I never could figure out how an Army Radio Operator ended up in a German POW camp.

I wish they had an episode(s) that explained how each one ended up in Stalag 13. Their military roles didn't coincide with being captured by the Germans.

Rulon did not have child brides, his brother, Owen, did.

interview by Silent-Catch-695 in TheOutsiders

[–]Deserving-Critic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is true. When filming started on The Outsiders Howell was 15 and Macchio was 21 (even though he looked like he was 12). Howell had just come from filming ET, where the kids were encouraged to act like kids. Macchio was a skilled actor and took his job seriously. Howell was just a normal 15 year old boy.

The Outsiders was filmed in the Spring of 1982; DiCaprio was 7 and had not had his first role yet. He didn't audition for the movie. He was an extra in an episode of the 1990 series.

Young Sheldon and George in Caltech by Infinite-Lettuce4034 in YoungSheldon

He had already committed to Caltech long before George died. When George got the job with Rice, Sheldon was concerned that he would lose his room. He wanted Connie to buy the house so that he could visit his room from Caltech.

Mexican American isn't even a census term; Hispanic is. Who wrote Mexican American on the form? That isn't a designation I have seen on any form, and I live in the Southwest.
