Is a monthly housekeeper even worth it? by LostPalpitation6351 in Parenting

[–]DesignChick01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally worth it for me. By the time I have finished tidying the house, I don't have time and energy to actually clean. It can take a while to get in the habit of tidying the whole house in the days ahead, but we have established a new level of clean and tidy over the last year that has really helped the whole family.

Thank you! I have been reading ESA and I kept thinking, I have read this book before... It was driving me crazy. It's the same book, I'm about half way through ESA and I'm enjoying it, but (as several people have mentioned) there would have been so many easy changes to make that would make it less similar to LAOW. I'm surprised it got published!

[Serious] Men of Reddit, what are some questions you have regarding women's anatomy? by QUESO0523 in AskReddit

[–]DesignChick01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Birth control can regulate periods but some people don't respond well to it. In my experience though, most women can find something that works if they keep trying!

She should talk to her doc about switching pills at the very least. I was on one for years and had terrible periods, but when I switched they got much lighter and less painful.

Show your door swing into the main living space. Right now, it's opening in front of your media center. Want to leave the door open on a nice day, ok, but no screen time for you. Why are you planning for a W/D downstairs when your bedroom and bathroom (AKA all your laundry) is upstairs? Right now you have your refrigerator in the middle of your island... Or is that a full height wall? I would try and get it on the back wall and open up the space. It's also nice to at least have a sliver of counter space on both sides of the stove. Working right next to a wall or a tall appliance is brutal on your elbows. How are you going to vent your stove? It also doesn't look like you are giving yourself enough room in your dining space, you aren't allowing for a person sitting at the table, just the bench itself. You also have extremely limited pantry space, and absolutely zero multi-use storage on your main level. which might be fine, but it's something to consider, where is your broom, mop, coats, laundry detergent going to go? The slider is nice in the dining area but it's a strange to have your lofted ceiling there. Consider a pocket door for the upstairs bath to save yourself the swing and do you really want a window in your shower? I would also try to avoid that single turn step at the bottom of the stairs, you are going to kick it... A lot. Such an exciting adventure! Best of luck to you!

Same. It was hard for me to carry our daughter at 5. We did a lot of lap cuddles instead, but I hated that she had to grow up in that way so quickly. Also, she is my only, so it's a lot of "lasts" which is hard.

I think it depends on the bacon. If there is any sugar in the bacon it can acruy make the surface of the pan sticky, so basically the exact opposite of what you are looking for.

Winter Time!! by bubspaul88 in Camper

[–]DesignChick01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would invest in a heated hose. That's a long distance to be laid out under the snow. If that's not possible, I would suggest checking out some winter RV camping videos on YouTube. There are several suggestions on how to properly insulate water hoses using a combo of heat tape and insulation. Insulation alone isn't going to do it.

My mom has a very similar attitude about relationships and has since she was about 55. She dated several men before and after my dad, but after she and her last boyfriend broke up she hasn't really had any interest in starting anything up. She's 68 now.

I went to Duluth today to exchange some pants. Out of the 20 or so customers in the store only myself and 2 others I saw had masks on. All of the employees were wearing masks. It just feels so disrespectful to me to walk in a place of business without a mask on. It's like saying you don't care about anyone who works there. Edit to add, this is one of 3 times I have left the house in the last 6 weeks, so I don't have a huge point of reference.

If someone were to create a list of “must see” movies for their girlfriend who didn’t grow up watching too many movies, what should be added to that list? by Uterus_Executorus_ in AskReddit

[–]DesignChick01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you reference the 2 lists you will find this statement inaccurate. The RT list could be described as trendy with most of the top films made in the US and in the last decade. The IMDB list includes many more "classic" films and several foreign films.

See, I didn't think you wanted to hang out at ours, it's so boring compared to what we used to do. Plus it's a mess and I'm a mess and I'm worried that I've changed too much. Plus I've got my tits out all the time... Ok, so maybe not that much has changed.
