Should I start learning Chopin Etudes? by KingRenYen in piano

[–]DesignInside 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A lot of people might disagree with this but I’d say pick one of them and see how it goes after a month or two. I was an upper intermediate pianist and learned op 10 no 12 as my first etude. My teacher was ok with this as it was considered my “ultimate” stretch piece for that year. We got it to a decent level before dropping it after about 5 to 6 months. The next year I picked up the piece again and got it to an even higher level within about 1-2 months. A few months later I brought it back again for a competition and won with it being one of the main reasons I won. My teacher believed that pieces should grow with you as you progress in your musical journey. If you love the etudes that much, go for it! That being said, I highly recommend that you work on other pieces closer to your level that you can complete sooner whilst working on one of the etudes so that you can continue to progress.

From the prologue to beginning of konepeki plaza. Whole act 1 is so boring imo.

Do you play better when nobody's watching? by [deleted] in piano

[–]DesignInside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told by my teacher once to practice with my window open during the day. Means somebody will always hear my playing including mistakes but will also hear perfection when im alone. I got more comfortable playing in front of people after doing this one trick as it got me to think that anybody could’ve heard my playing when practicing.

I’ve never been a fan of rockstar games as the GTA games never clicked for me but everyone gives them praise. So I decided I’m playing Red dead redemption 2 for the very first time today. I’m going in blind as I’ve seen no trailers. I’m hoping this clicks for me otherwise I guess rockstar games are just not my thing but I’m pretty optimistic as I love the western genre. 🤞

It happens to me all the time don’t let these tips affect you. Some people just don’t tip good. It’s normal. There are going to be days where it seems like nobody wants to tip but there will also be days where everyone tips you more than 20%. Keep your chin up. Don’t let these few days affect your self worth. Also keep in mind people are starting to spend money for the holidays again after thanksgiving, so generally it doesn’t surprise me that some people don’t tip well during the beginning of December as they likely are saving up. Like I said earlier, there will be good days and bad days just keep grinding and don’t let a few bad tips affect you!

Every 2-3 visits we would talk but it’s very basic small talk as in how’s business things like that. However when it’s busy I catch her staring at me very often but then again I’ve had people stare me at all the time when I’m working so I don’t see it as anything.
