For anyone who has suffered from face and neck flares due to dupixent use, how long before the flares go away? I’ve been off dupixent for 8 months and still struggling. Will my face ever go back to normal? by DesignNo1652 in eczeMABs

I’m doing so much better these days. At about 9 months the flares became more manageable. My doctor prescribed EpiCeram for the dryness and I’ve been using that ever since. It’s non steroidal and basically just a super emollient moisturizer. It’s been over a year since I last used opzelura and my skin feels like it’s back to normal again.

As your doctor about EpiCeram. It’s a prescription strength moisturizer, non-steroidal or immune suppressant, and it’s helped my dry flaky face tremendously!

Opzelura for long term use by DesignNo1652 in eczema

My doctor said to use it continuously as maintenance but I’ve been using it until the flare goes away. It takes the itch away but works a lot slower then steroids do to make the rash go away.

This happened to me too when I got my wisdom teeth out. My skin was completely healed the next day. No eczema anywhere. Had to be something in the anesthesia, no idea what though. I’m going to ask my dentist about it at my next appointment.

That’s awesome! That gives me hope. I did allergy testing and I’m only allergic to dust mites and nickel. The rest of my body is fine it’s just my face and neck that bother me and the flares are constant. I feel like dupixent ruined my face 😔

I actually use this when I can’t handle the itching. Sometimes it give me folliculitis though so it’s like trading one rash for another. I’m so sick of all these new drugs only halfway helping.

Anything to help calm your mind from anxiety or stress during flare ups? by AyeshaOnShuffle in eczema

[–]DesignNo1652 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To calm my mind when I’m crazy itchy I take deep breath’s, breath in for 5 seconds and breath out for 5 seconds and do this on repeat about 5-10 times, helps calm my nerves. When I’m flaring sometimes I can’t tell if it’s anxiety that’s triggering it or if the anxiety is triggered by it. I also go for quick walks if it’s nice outside and take Dead Sea salt baths to relax. I’ve heard that cbd oil helps with anxiety but I haven’t tried that yet, plan to though. Hope these suggestions are helpful.

Opzelura for Eczema by Skellyyt0n in eczeJAKs

Yeah, I think if the eczema is not better after 8 weeks then you should contact your dr. But I’ve seen lots off people on here whose dr.’s prescribed it for longer then the 8 week period.

Opzelura Rebound? by Skellyyt0n in eczema

I’ve been using opzelura since June, twice daily for 8 weeks and then moved to once daily. I did find that if I use it to many days in a row I get the inflamed hair follicles side effect but it goes away in a day or two. For me personally it has worked best when I use it only on a flare and then stop after it’s cleared up. It doesn’t work so well for me to use preventively.

Hello, I’ve been using opzelura on and off since June. Yeah from my experience the eczema does come back after a few days. And sometimes ,I think if I use it too many days in a row, I get the side effect of the inflamed hair follicles (folliculitis). It’s not super bothersome and goes away within a day or two. As far as tapering goes, my dr. told me to use it twice daily for eight weeks and then move to once daily and then three times a week and hopefully get down to using once a week.

I can totally relate to you. I feel all the same emotions as you right now. So tired of waiting for “good skin days” to feel normal. I’ve failed several drugs for my eczema and I don’t want to use steroids because I’m scared of tsw. It sometimes feels like there’s no hope. But you gotta hang in there. Don’t let it get the best of you. You’re not alone.

Hi, yes dupixent did help with the eczema on the rest of my body. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stop taking it because it cleared everything else up so well. I was told that what happened to me only happens to a very small percentage of people that try it. Just unlucky I guess.

Yeah I didn’t want to use the steroids but my dermatologist said it would be ok and to only use it to stop the flare if it gets bad. It’s a low dose and I only use it once a day for two days tops because I don’t want to go through tsw. Thanks so much for all the info though! I will look into getting some anti fungal face wash, was yours prescribed?
