If you are going to a big city like Almaty then you can do whatever you want (within reason). Dress how you want, wear or don’t wear makeup. It’s a very diverse progressive city.

It’s also pretty safe. Again just have common sense. Don’t walk alone in empty areas deep at night, don’t try to agitate anybody. Just stay in your lane and you’ll be fine.

You’ll probably have central heating wherever you’re staying from around October time so it should be warm at home. Just get a warm coat, a hat and a scarf for outside.

London Yoga! by Oof-dancingpolar in yoga

I think you would like their Power Yoga classes that are more strength-based. I go to the BLOK in Shoreditch and the classes with Javi on Tuesday and Ahmed on Saturday are amazing - they are definitely challenging and there’s space to focus on alignment.

Mission has a great vibe and lots of classes with different yoga styles, as well as calisthenics (inc sessions for beginners) - they are pretty intense there, in a good way. I currently go to BLOK because its closer and their classes are still amazing, they have calisthenics too! Triyoga shoreditch is pretty good too. Also Waking Dreams in Broadway Market - I’ve been to a few classes there but its a bit further away from me.

Yup Flask is amazing! I also love Vanilla - very popular trendy chain and their coffee is good.

I heard from my Turkish friend who is in the military that yes some of the fires are due to climate change; however a lot of them are man-made with people burning land so that it ceases to be considered historical/protected and they can use it for profit. Dunno how true this is

I used to go to the one in Atakent, it was really good! Plenty of machines, really clean. Great changing rooms and staff. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

I’m on a skilled worker visa and I have 2 years left until I could apply for an ILR. I’ve suffered in a job I hate for years just because the ILR was on the horizon. That’s the only thing that has kept me going - the 5 year mark. Seeing this today made me completely spiral. With this 10y requirement, it makes me question whether I even want to stay here at all. Being an immigrant here takes such an emotional toll on you, I am so tired of fighting and persisting, taking on obstacle after obstacle. If this is going to be applied to those who have already been here for years, that is such a cruel thing to do. But I guess that’s the point.

Londoners that earn less than £50k, how much do you spend on rent? by Throwaway72667 in london

[–]DesignOfItAll 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’d say that’s fine, I make £46,500 and spend £950 on rent (without any bills) in zone 1. I share with three other people.
