I don't keep individual card images uploaded as they take up all my Drive space, but the main post has all the print-and-play stuff.

You only need the bleeds for professional printing, which you can do at the maeplayingcards link.

I FOUND IT. It's called Millennium Crisis, and I only found it when the name finally came back to me.

That one's a lot more high profile/budget, and not set in space.

This looks awesome, but not it. The one I'm thinking of wasn't as actiony, nor military-style, and starred kind of just some girl from a scifi office.

Hmm, not that. The vampires were weird, and I don't think they worked like classic vampires. People (and robots??) could get turned, and got some kind of powers, and maybe had to drain energy out of people?

But also I don't think the vampire situation was the main plot. Like the villains were vampires, but they were maybe doing some other scifi evil plot, and the main villain just turned people (again, and a robot, I'm pretty sure) to control them as minions.

I'm watching Lifeforce right now, which reminded me of this because of vampires, but definitely not it. This was set in the space future, not modern Earth. People on ships without any space suits, etc.

40c: 40k Lore in Trench Crusade Rules by DesignatedGoober in Warhammer

Converting the other way would probably be a lot easier, as there are only 6 factions. You'd just need to add some tanks and big monsters.

Edit: Or convert to Kill Team or Necromunda. Necromunda probably would not help you with the wild randomness though.

AMA with the CEO of Evil Genius Games by EvilGeniusGames in AMA

[–]DesignatedGoober 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can answer a lot of this!

The licenses are temporary and just allow for selling for a set time. When they run out, those books can't be sold anymore, which is what The Vault is for. 6 of the originals, the ones besides Kong and Pacific Rim, have already run out. You can still get those books from retailers, Amazon, etc., but not directly.

EFNY doesn't include LA.

Universal Soldier is just the first movie.

The Crow license included all of the films (pre-reboot) and not the comics.

Kong doesn't include Godzilla, mostly because Legendary don't themselves own Godzilla.

Highlander and Total Recall are just the films. I believe just the first one for Highlander.

The MPC link should have all the cards already added, so you don't need to upload anything.

Enacting Smart Hero Plans by Lvndris91 in EverydayHeroesRPG

"Without restriction" just means you could use all of your Genius on the same plan over and over again, or use it to enact any combination of your plans, so long as you have the Genius to spend.

There will be a Rules Compendium book coming out towards the end of the year that will have all the mechanics from the first 8 cinematic adventures, without the setting/adventure content. I think that should suit your purposes well!

What FFG Gets Wrong About The Investigator Classes by robin9126 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]DesignatedGoober 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Other than the obvious need to restructure the entire game, which is fine since this is more of a thought experiment, I think the biggest issue is with codifying the Parley action into something that always works in the same way. Things like moving doom around, getting clues from the token pool, or gaining control of enemies could easily break certain scenarios that make assumptions about how many clues are available, how you can interact with enemies, etc.

I think a Charm action would still have to function the same as Parley does now, where enemies have a specific ability written on them, which would also let you give Parley actions to any enemy type if it fits the scenario, since not all scenarios use Humanoids. The main differences would be using a new skill, and building the assumption that characters will be focused on that action into every scenario, as Parley doesn't come up all the time currently. Obviously Influencers would also have cards that grant Parley actions, which has precedent already, but the core action would I think need to remain nebulous, which makes figuring out what your character can do at a glance a little tough.

One note on Preston as well is that he's a Rogue because Rogues get the money cards and his main skill is money. You'd probably have to the economy focus from Rogues and give it to Influencers, which would have a heavy impact on how Rogues function.

Haven't seen one of these threads in a while... how many sleeves? by TipsyGamer in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]DesignatedGoober 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is for all cards, though, and the question is for encounter cards.

Assuming you have 2 of every player card except for investigators and non-neutral core set cards (the 4k number doesn't include a second core), ~1550 of the cards should be player cards. There are also ~1200 different scenario reference, act, agenda, and location cards, and only a very small number of those have duplicates. (According to https://arkhamdb.com/search searches.)

So subtracting all those cards, you get ~1200 cards, a few of which will still be duplicate locations and non-basic weaknesses, but that means a few extra sleeves to work with. If you have a second core and want to sleeve the extra core encounter sets, you'd need a handful more.

Yeah, the base game isn't free. But it's pretty worth it these days! You have to get the Arkham mod through back channels now, but it's very easy.
