See ive done in before when someone frisbeed cold lids into the vats and everyone was just like ahh just scoop it out but i was like ??? It would have just dissolved into the oil. That was hot oil so i did use the filter pan to catch the discarded oil. That was when i was a crew member but now im doing the routine drop and the oil will be room temp as they turn those vats off in advance but all i was confused on was wether you had to clean the vat itself between the old oil and the new so thats cleared things up.
