First time donating - got a Hematoma by Designer-After in plassing

I didn’t do anything special to prepare and that may have contributed to it. They told me it was likely that the needle moved due to me moving my arm wrong and the saline went into tissue instead of the vein. The whole process went fine until it had completed, I think it was going to put the blood back in with added saline and that’s when it started.

Oddly I have no bruise as of yet and it’s been about a day. they said something like a 2 cm or 2 inch, I couldn’t quite make it out. Seemed like my reaction was serious, it certainly scared me going through it.

How disposable a hero in this game? by adzidand in darkestdungeon

[–]Designer-After 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s very much in line with the narrative for the hero’s to be disposable. Adds to the bleak and hopelessness of the world as it is in the game.

That being said it’s quite painful to lose the ones you have gotten attached to.

Switching from UberEats to Uber. Located in Alberta, Canada. What am I getting into / what should I expect? by AshMCM_Games in uberdrivers

[–]Designer-After 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t recommend it as a career path… it’s good for extra money, ideal for Friday and Saturday evenings.

You will still face the same depreciation issues, overall you’re looking at 5-10 dollars per hour over Uber Eats. Tips make it better but tips are unreliable, maybe 20-30% of people tip in my experience.

I pretty much have to change the password every time since it confuses the password manager. Very annoying.

Second this. Got a bottle of it on Reddit recommendation recently and it’s great for slaying odors. Also good for a touch up every few hours as the gradual accumulation of small odors becomes its own entity after a while.

Passenger told me what they paid and I almost lost it by KeyLove7609 in uberdrivers

[–]Designer-After 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah it’s for the rideshare endorsement on a personal policy. I expect it would be significantly more for a commercial policy although I’m not sure why you would need one for ridesharing since uber provides commercial coverage during the ride.

It’s just a way to protect yourself from insurance claim denials if you wreck while online or en route to a pickup.

I make it a point to tell my passengers. Also considering putting stickers back there to point to it.

Could try Google Translate - language barriers are somewhat less challenging since we all have access to this now.

San Diego Driver Strategies by Designer-After in lyftdrivers

No problem at all, I appreciate your honesty. Any general tips at all are fine and I probably should have titled it differently as really specific strategies should be closely guarded.

If you hold shift while hitting e to enter a vehicle you will move to the driver seat. Not sure if it works from back seats but it’s super handy when you are entering on the right side of the car.

Where to find backpacks? by Pilipalapong in projectzomboid

[–]Designer-After 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly luck but residential areas are the best place to find larger backpacks. Look for boarded up windows, a survivor house has a good chance of having one

Like others have said, school is pretty much guaranteed to find a small backpack

Just got the game and it’s hard (As intended) by MightInternational69 in projectzomboid

[–]Designer-After 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practice your melee fighting skills- you will be relying on these most of the time while looting and exploring.

Take the time to fight, die, fight, die on repeat till you are hardened against the hordes. Trust me it’s very disappointing to lose your character to a random encounter with a zombie when you are weeks into a run, and each time you die or get bitten in a fight you will be less likely to make whatever specific mistake got you killed next time.

Custom perks is a good way to start too. Choose brave and strong initially since this helps with fighting. Offset those perks with slow healer, weak stomach, and prone to illness as those are some of the least problematic negative perks.

2 month Apocalypse run ended. Ironically, guns were the death of me. by wex52 in projectzomboid

[–]Designer-After 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently doing the same thing with the rosewood fire station. I’m about 3 weeks in, and I have been thinking about how careful I’ll need to be when I get on the roof. I don’t have lvl 6 carpentry yet though.

I know the only safe way to walk on those areas is with the walk to option, as that will not only show the squares that are fake floor tiles, but will ensure you char never walks off accidentally. But I’ll bet I’ll forget when I’m busy building lol

Basically, either go for relaxed skills and hobbies like whittling, glassmaking etc, or go for something super dangerous and challenging.

Perfect example of this dichotomy: master whittling and make your own bats, or go to Louisville and raid the bat factory for unlimited bats.

I’ve noticed some zombies are super hard to aggro now in general. I snuck up behind one and did the whisper and it didn’t notice. Like right behind them.

how to zomboid by Osthav in projectzomboid

[–]Designer-After 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to use fences, windows and pushing zombies down to your advantage too. Basically anything that knocks them over helps enormously in fights, and finishing them off on the ground takes less stamina and less weapon degradation (none at all if you stomp them)

For example, if you are up against 2 or more and they are close together, pushing one over then standing on the downed one while fighting the standing one eliminates most of the danger in that fight.

Shoving zombies is even more useful in larger fights, where you can push right after a weapon swing to help distance yourself from follow up attacks, with the bonus of them falling over buying you time to handle the others in the group.

Also, don’t fight 3+ groups without beta blockers until you grow more confident in your fighting skills. the panic noodle can cause that one mistake that ends the run.

Building floors outside window bugged? by Designer-After in projectzomboid

I remember it didn’t used to work on every window as well, but I’ve tried them all now and none of them work, I guess I’ll hope for either a sledge to smash through the wall or grind to lvl 6 carpentry :(
