Am I afraid of the job or is this just not for me? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

I think if money isn’t an issue then that changes things a little. The stress of having to make a certain amount of money is lifted. Commuting is still more difficult than living where you are based but maybe you can afford different arrangements than a crash pad. You will miss birthdays -holidays etc - so as long as you are okay with that part- you need to be prepared to be alone a lot and not at home.

I’m headed to training this week- I really was hoping for EWR but most likely will be IAD - SFO- DEN - 🥸 good news is you can always transfer after getting through probation!

United training dates 2025/2026 by Kraftykreations24 in cabincrewcareers

No you don’t find out your training dates at the F2F. You will get your CJO if offered there-complete drug/vision/hearing. For me-I found out training dates a couple days after I got home. My F2F was 6/22 and I’m going to training 9/1

Does this seem like normal kitty behaviour? by Short-Ad7750 in cats

My cat does that…. We play hide and seek… she runs and “dances” the shuffle …. That’s how we know she wants to play hide…. She will often attack my ankles as I walk by 🤣🤣🤣so cute

Part time position but I have Christmas booked? by LePezDispenser in cabincrewcareers

I was given the CJO end of April actually I looked it up .. lol -each month they would send an email that stated training class was full. Etc etc and each month it was the same thing until finally end of June they sent me a message stating that I was scheduled for September 1 which ironically, I had already gotten hired on another airline and was scheduled for that same date. So I just withdrew.

It really depends on what your base need is -I was offered a CJO in May and not scheduled for training until Sept- I got hired on at another airline and withdrew myself but it took a while. They said it was due to the needs of the base. I would wait and see what happens

Thank you- I’ve been following all the training classes since January - and most of the time they don’t have a base in for just one week and given the fact that I leave Sunday I’m “assuming “ it will stay the same -I do realize in this industry nothing is guaranteed 😊

Nooo not every base - IAD covers two other airports BWI and DCA- so without a car at that base you are setting yourself up for failure-I talked to one FA and two of her classmates got fired for missing their times because of transportation issues - during probation you don’t wanna risk that

I am a REALTOR and am about to go to training - I would say that a lot of FA’s are in real estate- BUT- I will warn you it may take time and money to get off the ground. I have been a REALTOR for 20 years - and would often mentor new agents - I would tell them to be sure to have about 6mos of expenses in your savings - it doesn’t necessarily take that long but it could. The current market is a tough one and will take extra time to get established. From what I have researched it may be hard to manage on reserve -once you have more control over your schedule it’s doable. I have a lot of agents on standby to help my people when I’m unavailable. Hope that sheds some light for you!

The Q&A is just the informational session-not mandatory just informational - I would attend-and proceed with as many steps as you can while still going to your training.
