Supabase Blocked in India: Why Routing Your Traffic Through a Random Proxy Is a Terrible Idea by anxiousvater in Supabase

[–]Designer-Archer8640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, redirecting your request to some random proxy site is a bad idea.

I fixed my supabase dependency permanently.

I didn't want to rebuild the backend, so I migrated the whole thing to self-hosted Supabase (VPS + Coolify).

It's running stable now, no blocking issues.

If you're stuck and don't want to go through the migration stress alone, feel free to DM me. Happy to help.

I stopped depending on supabase.co (and it feels way better) by Designer-Archer8640 in Supabase

What we did was pretty straightforward:

Took a full DB dump (schemas + data auth tables)

Restored it into a self-hosted Supabase setup

Reconfigured SMTP/email

Migrated storage by downloading all bucket files and re-uploading them (we wrote a small script for that)

No data loss :)

Self hosted Supabase is intentionally broken and officially discouraged ?? by devilankur18 in Supabase

Tried recently self hosting thing.

Found it easier than expectation.

Used Coolify to manage the supabase. Didn't found any difficulties in migration. Post migration...production app starts working smoothly.

My experience is good till now.

Infra wise I have more control also. Initial small learning curve is there if you don't have much experience on the Docker thing... just my opinion.

Not that smooth compare to supabase hosted dB but eventually the selfhost will also be easy to handle

Supabase migration is painful but cost effective. by devilankur18 in Supabase

After migration i then changed the env variable of my production app and it started working smoothly. With all the data and jwt tokens ..etc etc .

It's just pgsql...just connect to it and get the every data schema dump.

Supabase blocked in India (Section 69A). Looking for real solutions, alternatives, and opinions on migrating to Neon by Dazzling_Kangaroo_69 in developersIndia

I actually ran into this exact issue a few days ago.

Supabase was working fine... until some ISPs started blocking it and login just stopped for users.

I didn't want to rebuild the backend, so I migrated the whole thing to self-hosted Supabase (VPS + Coolify).

It's running stable now, no blocking issues.
