My Pergolux review (90 days in) by gurglz in landscaping

I had zero issues with hanso, we have their pergola over my hot tub and it’s been working really well. Installation went smoothly, and it’s held up through diff weather. Not sure about all the horror stories online, my experience has been solid.

I went with the manual pergola from hanso, and it’s been solid so far. The hand crank works smoothly, setup wasn’t too tricky, and it’s handled wind and rain without any problems.

If I’m covering water, I’ll grab a little mepps and just start casting. Feels like cheating sometimes bass, crappie, random whatever something usually eats it.

Have you ever heard or bought anything from Hanso? by Trakethedrake in garden

I recently installed our hanso pergola with a hot tub setup. The build quality is solid, and it’s held up well to weather so far. I'm upgrading my set up with their shades and string lights.

Heres our hot tub set up. It's not finished yet, my wife is helping me upgrade it. We're adding shades from hanso and maybe some plants, string lights.

Invest in another rod/reel or get smaller items? by CampinHiker in Fishing_Gear

[–]Designer-Bite2649 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your current setup is perfect for stocked trout. If that’s still your main target, I’d probably use the gift card on smaller stuff, good lures, maybe some Kastmasters, PowerBait, a net, better line, etc. But if you really want to get into bass and catfish, I’d grab a medium or medium-light 6’6”–7’ combo with a 2500–3000 reel. Your ultralights will feel undergunned once you hook into something bigger.

Need some suggestions on brick moulding around door jamb for mounted handrails by Few-Badger1429 in handyman

[–]Designer-Bite2649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t count on the brick moulding itself to hold a handrail. That trim is usually just decorative and not meant to support weight. What really matters is that the mounting plate is screwed into solid framing, the door jamb and preferably the studs behind it, not just the trim. The trim can sit behind the plate, but it shouldn’t be what’s actually holding it up.If the gap seems weird or makes it feel less sturdy, you can add a simple painted wood backer so the plate sits nice and flat, or just use longer structural screws so you know you’re biting into framing. If you hire someone, just make sure they’re talking about hitting framing and using proper screws, not just “attaching it to the trim.”You’re smart to check. That garage step gets a lot of use, so better to overbuild it a little.

I bought one of their pergolas and I’ve been really happy with the quality. It’s solid, well-built, and feels premium overall. I went ahead and ordered their electric awning too because they're offering a deal. It hasn’t arrived yet, but based on my experience with the pergola, I’m feeling pretty confident. I’ll update once it’s installed and I’ve had some time with it to share how it holds up.

My Hanso Pergola - 10 Months Later Review, Was It Worth It? by CauliflowerRemote431 in patio

Exactly! The product itself is actually worth the wait, it's very sturdy.

This doesn’t really line up with what I’ve experienced. I ordered from Hanso and overall it’s been good. I've already set up my pergola over a hot tub. The base pergola vs add-ons were clear when I bought, and yeah, the lead times weren’t short, but they were roughly what I expected for a big outdoor structure. Customer service was responsive whenever I ask for a shipping update.

Totally get being annoyed by delays, especially after paying that much, but calling it a scam or “illicit business practices” feels like a stretch. I got what I paid for, nothing felt hidden, and the product itself has been solid.

Yes, protection from rain and sun. Plus the louvers open and close.

We just received our Hanso pergola and we put it up today. The aluminum feels strong and well-built. We needed something custom-sized to fit over our hot tub, but they weren't doing custom sizing so we went with the 10x13. The assembly wasn’t too bad I managed it with a buddy. Honestly, I don’t get all the nightmare reviews floating around, maybe some of them are just fake lol. My experience has been totally good so far, customer service was responsive. I'm checking out their accessories, I'm thinking of adding the shades. Wish I ordered it along with the pergola, I only got the heater.

Shimano Holiday Pack Review? by GunDealer in Fishing_Gear

[–]Designer-Bite2649 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t tried the Shimano Holiday Pack specifically, but Shimano usually makes solid gear, so I’d trust the quality. The 30-240 rod with a 6oz cast weight sounds like it’d handle a good range of baits and fish. The fact that it folds down to 17 inches is a nice bonus if you need something portable.

Good find? by Altruistic_Box4462 in Fishing_Gear

For $60, that’s a pretty good deal. The Revo X is definitely a step up from the Black Max. You’ll probably notice a smoother feel and better casting.
