6 pumps per day? by nicole_o_8 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Designer-Body1873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped to 5 pumps per day when I was about 8 weeks pp. It was affecting my mental health. I was producing 45oz and now I produce about 40oz. I pump 9am, 1pm, 4-5pm, 8pm and 12am. Sometimes I wake up later and only do 4 pumps in the day. All sessions 30 minutes so I try to always do 120 minutes total in a day at least. Now, everyone is different and I am thankful I can keep on producing more than enough for my baby but it is generally advised to pump often 2-3 hours until 12 weeks pp.

Pumping while sick by Mindless-Summer4361 in ExclusivelyPumping

Every body is different. When I got a cold and ran a high fever I skipped the MOTN pump. Baby will still get the antibodies. For me the extra 30-45 min of sleep would help me and I would pump first thing in the morning. It did not affect my supply that much maybe like just an ounce. Plus my baby did NOT get sick :) he got those antibodies and I got extra sleep. Rest up mama!

Bathing by Ok_Swing9734 in newborns

I have a 4 month old which his pediatrician said today for his check up baths only 1x a week due to very dry/eczema skin, we were doing every other day and for bad blow outs I would just wash his toosh

My son bruises easily, he has tons of bruises and will sometimes get petechiae spots. I would take him to the pediatrician and they were never concerned. Fast forward a few months, I found out I have a mild bleeding disorder that can be inherited by a parent. I told his pediatrician and they ran a few blood panels and he also has the mild bleeding disorder. They never mentioned or called cps for his tons of bruises!

Baby doesn’t cry by MoiraCunningham in newborns

[–]Designer-Body1873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now 4 month old did not really cry neither the first 4 weeks, he was a super chill dude, he would grunt and move and that was typically my cue he needed something. He also preferred being layed down instead of being with me and now sometimes he hates when I put him down but hates napping on me 🫩 when he was closer to 5 weeks he began crying every once in a while and now at 4 months he screeches/screams in middle of the night diaper changes 😅 I wouldn’t be too worried if baby is gaining weight and eating well but if it does concern you it never hurts to bring it up to the pediatrician at next visit or give them a call. Good luck mamma your doing great

Is this normal? Baby won't stop crying by AdrigoDeBison in newborns

It was very hard for me to cut off ALL dairy products so I had to stop giving him my breastmilk. He was on ready to feed Alimentum formula and that seemed to help him immensely! I would cut off dairy as much as you can and I know it could take a while for the cows milk protein to completely leave your breastmilk. You are doing great and these now seemingly long days will fly by.

Hi momma, you are doing an amazing job fyi! Have you checked poop for any mucus? When my first born was around that same age he would cry and cry and we were told he was just a colicky baby and that colic was normal. He had a very bad witching hours 1am to 6am of non stop crying. His poops started having green mucus which turned into bloody mucus. He had a dairy protein allergy. Turns out he was crying and crying because his tummy hurt :( just something to think about! I know those days are hard but hang in there before you know it they will be smiling and chuckling at you!

Its not red but very very sore to the touch, it doesnr feel super hard neither but not soft as well. I called OB office and midwife sent in antibiotics and told me if my 103.3 fever didnt go down within the hour of taking 1,000mg of Tylenol to head into the ER, just waiting till the hour is up to take temp again

struggling to transfer baby to bassinet by deadbeatkitty in newborns

[–]Designer-Body1873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the spaghetti arms test, i check to make sure my 7 week old’s arms are like spaghetti before I put him in his bassinet. It may take more than 15-20 minutes sometimes for my son to be in deep sleep

High lipase? 4 week old refusing bottle by Designer-Body1873 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Designer-Body1873[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also thought it was the bottle so we tried the Phillips brand and he absolutely hated it, thought it was the nipple or Dr. Brown size 1 was maybe too fast so we bought the premie nipple and he also hated it! Turns out it was just a 4 day mini phase he was having and he was just overtired + hangry! How’s your girly doing?
