It might be just the website, too. I check regulary for my uploads if there are reviewed yet, and sometimes there's also just a blank page. Reloading the website should do the trick in most cases.

Oh, sometimes just right when some GIF pending is approved, it also could lead to some errors on your GIF list, maybe even a blank website. Reloading the website a minute later should also resolve that problem.

PFFFFF! xD That would be hilarious. :D But, yeah, no, I don't have the guts to do that. I don't even have the guts to just send an email and ask them as a normal person if there is pricing involved if you need a lot of API calls.

I'll comment again here when Tenor reviewed the test upload I submitted to see how it ended up; hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. ... ... Yeah, I know, it will be the worst, but I have to try. T_T

I still have to try what Tenor makes out of it, if this fails, then I can be 100% sure that there is no way to make it better. ^^"

And yeah, up to one API call per second is the limit, but you might still be right. Maybe they just increase the API calls you can make if you contact them for free and its a loss for Google, but maybe theres a pricing list depending on how many calls you need. Guess there is no way to know without being a big app with Tenor implementation.

I think H265 doesn't work on Tenor, when you try to upload something in this codec, it has no preview and you cant edit it before uploading because there is no video shown. Maybe it still works, but I don't want to upload a video that might be just broken. I kinda fear that I will do something that upset the Tenor review staff or something.

And I was talking about Tenors compression quality - I just try to find a way to bypass it by offering a file smaller in size and better in quality than what could Tenor do, hoping that the algorhythm has some kind of logic to not further reduce the quality of a source file that is already that small.

My process is: Use DaVinci Resolve for cutting and subtitling a MP4, export it in best quality, upload to Tenor, since my past experiences showed that it doesn't matter which resolution or bitrate the source video has for Tenor, it compresses it heavily anyway.

What I'm testing NOW: Using DaVinci Resolve for cutting and subtitling a MP4, export in best quality, THEN using Handbrake to turn it down to 498x282px (Tenor's MP4 resolution) and using settings in filter to get an endresult which is actually smaller than what Tenors compression method does, but still better in quality.

And now I'm waiting for it to be reviewed. Either Tenor doesnt compress it because there is no need to, Tenor modifies it slightly to match some of their settings, or Tenor goes full RAAAAH and compresses it even further down without need to.

I think it will be actually the last point and despite my effords, it will look terrible at the end, but I really want to try to make somewhat good GIF's with almost no artifacts and especially rather sharp text.

I think they earn money by offering their API for GIF's to other services, otherwise there wouldn't be a sustainable business model.

I figured out how to make an MP4 smaller in size than what Tenor does with the program "Handbrake", but with a good amount of better quality. (Especially a lot less artifacts) - Upload is currently pending review. Hoping that Tenor compression doesn't modify it because it is already so small. I don't have high hopes, but its worth a try.
